Oo-er, I don't know how I feel about this new layout! It's a bit bright and cartoony... I don't deal well with change!

I'm in mega holiday mode! We spent most of the weekend dossing in various people's gardens and apparently I smelt of holiday yesterday thanks to the suncream and the aftersun! I'm so gutted we don't go away for another 8ish months (264 days!)

It makes sense to rule out competitions this week, they're an easy way to procrastinate!

3 months 2 weeks, and me and what was my husband now a bright green puddle of melted Irishman will be on the beach in Dubai. Its looking likely we'll be able to pull together enough Tesco vouchers for a 2 week holiday with Virgin as well as the week in New York. So, I need to find somewhere thats as close to £700 each as possible. We were thinking maybe a California flydrive, see San Francisco, Yosemite and LA, but I'm not sure I can go a whole year without a nice beach!

Apparently I'm tied to whoever the lady we bought the house off is from for the bills, then I can swap after opening an account with them. So now I need to try to find out who she was with.

I'm fairly sure there are nice beaches in California! It's the home of the beach babe stereotype isn't it?! My parents had 3 weeks going round California a couple of years ago and loved it (and the beaches, although the sea wasn't too warm, is that what you mean by 'nice beach'?), said it was one of the best holidays they've had.

Hmmm you know I hadn't really thought that there are beaches in California (I know, I'm simple!)

Hello, just catching up after busy weekend and morning! That's rubbish about the house being in a state, we had that with oen of our rented places once, took two days to clean it. In hindsight we should have called the agents to get the professionals in as that's what you're meant to be paying for and I'd do it without a thought now, but I guess it's a different kettle of fish when you're buying.

Also v annoying that it appears to be falling apart ever so slightly, some good pointers from whoever it was (:o) about what to put in your strongly worded letter.

Glad you enjoyed yourself Cinny, the photos are fab. Mmmmm.... holidays.... I know I've just got back! But we want a week away a bit like we had in Ibiza ast year - beach, ppol interesting town, interesting and historic day trips and good food, but I think resorts like that are few and far between especially when you want a bargain as well! Was pleased to hear all the ash cloud activity seems to have stopped anyway!

Oh you're right not to bother with the comps - I did a fair bit last year and it's so time consuming - not to mention mind-numbing - even with Roboform.

    Hope everyone's well :) xx

Oh and you'd think that there'd be some system in place for transferring energy customer names when buying a house, couldn't the estate agents write to them or something? Sheesh!

Woo two days off and brilliant sunshine! Been sitting in the garden but fell asleep so came back in. Been up since 5am to watch the finale of Lost!

Speaking of holidays, i'm sitting here planning our next one. Trying to do it as cheap as possible, but have no idea where we're gonna go.

Still enjoying the cleaning at the mo, they have plenty of shifts to give me as one person walked out last week! Another is stuck on holiday. Plus im losing weight!! :D OH took me shopping last week and bought me a few bits so im feeling positive at the mo.

Ignoring all the bad things like the stupid people saying they havent recieved their dvds on Amazon a month after i posted them!? Ridiculous, dont seem to be getting anywhere with the extra money making stuff, but at least im employed! Haha!

Dinah hope you get somewhere with the letter you're writing. Not fair!

Cinny i dont think black ink is tacky, i'd chose black over colour anyday. At the end of the day its your decision and different things suit different people. Dont need to explain yourself to anyone...you're not tattooing their skin! :rotfl:Looking forward to seeing a piccie when you're done and past the itching/scabbing stage lol xx

Tete (or anyone else wordy) I can't think of a word that means 'not in depth' ie the surveyors report was shallow and could have been written by a layman. Or a monkey for that matter. Any ideas?

Blimey! Didnt realise i'd wrote so much.

California must have amazing beaches! Thats what i think of when i think of California! Blonde tanned barbie looking women on roller skates lol but that might be because of Sweet Valley High :o

Was gonna ask my sister MIL for shifts at her place (shes the supervisior of another cleaning company, with hours that could fit around this current one) but her friend passed away (who was also the other supervisior) so i think i'll wait a while before bringing it up!

Sorry I haven't been on for ages. Had a busy week last week with a media party wed, then last night shopping Thurs, then was in Southampton this weekend. Saw my friend with her baby Sat for some lunch, he is still as cute as ever. Then had a mini bbq and went out sat evening. Then Sunday went to the beach in my friends convertible, very nice!

Dinah - very exciting about having the keys to the house but sooo annoying with all the things that are wrong. Is hard work getting a new place sorted that is rented so can imagine that is a nightmare.

Speaking of holiday, 2 and a half weeks till mine yay! Have got pretty much all my holiday clothes now just need to sort out money, car park etc.

Hmm. Vague, superficial, cursory - are they too strong? Maybe standard and non-detailed, minimal, unspecific? :undecided It's quite a difficult one!
