We will be writing to the airline first because he has a return ticket and obviously cannot use the return portion and under EU Regulations they didn't give her a hotel or food. She has made her own way to a friend in Milan and now to Paris to get back.0

I am getting a bit concerned my sister won't be able to get her new flight back Wedesday now as means will need to pack all her stuff to move myself and she has some fiddly stuff like her knitting machines.
She is in a hotel by the airport now and said there isn't much to do and they haven't got much money left.0 -
gosh, it's causing so much chaos! I think I'd be happy being stuck on holiday, but i guess the reality is stressful and expensive! Hope your sister get back okay, Wendz, and Mrs Poolie!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380

Have had a busy weekend, and last few days. On Thursday we booked the wedding car (Jag Mk II - I fell in love with it!) and on Saturday the wedding list (House of Fraser). Feeling a bit further forward now. So the to do list for this week is:
- Write to surveyors company
- Write to ombudsman
- Do mood board for sewing class
- Do health and safety book for sewing class
- Write up cupcakes on blog
- Write up dress and mood board on blog
- List 70 things on ebay
- Order bridesmaids dresses
- Do first matched bet
- Finish Burning Bright
- Do 4 vine reviews
- Write a draft business plan for new product
We're also in an arguement with the vendor of the house we are looking to buy. Got an email off her solicitor on Thursday saying 'we are expecting a 27th April complation'. Given we've been asking for a date for 4 weeks, suddenly throwing one 2 weeks away doesn't work for us so we got our solicitor to propose an alternative date 5 weeks away. Her estate agent then sent a very stroppy email about how it was unacceptable and the chain has always been working towards an end of April completion. Its a chain of 3, we're one of those 3, therefore if 33% of the chain has no idea what date complation is aiming for I don't think you can say 'the chain has always been working towards this date!'. So we'll see what happens, mum doesn't think she's going to go putting the house back on the market for the sake of a few weeks, but she's been as unpredictable as a startled horse up until now, so we'll have to see. When the estate agent calls and yells at me tomorrow I will make it very clear she could have avoided this situation if she had communicated this date to us sooner, and if the house does gets its little SSTC banner removed on rightmove or the shop window then our offer on the property will be immediately withdrawn, and she can start looking for a buyer again.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Oh dear, you'd never realise how many people were out of the country until they all get stranded would you?! I'm starting to worry about my flight to Italy in three weeks' time as this whole thing seems to be dragging on and the volcano keeps erupting! Hope Mrs Poolie and sis Wendz get back OK soon!
Dinah that looks like a tough list, especially the ebay oneI don't understand the problem with the completion date though, I thought you had the money and everything in place, and it's not like you'd have to move in straight away or anything because you're not planning to anyway. Complaining just because you only get two weeks' notice might be cutting off your nose to spite your face -I'd be delighted that it was all going through at last.

I think it's because they'll have to start paying the mortgage sooner than they'd planned for = more money to find? (correct me if I'm wrong mind!)
But.. 70 ebay items?! You mean after all that time spent selling hundreds of things on ebay you still have more?! Hope you get all your list ticked off though, I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for the blog posts!0 -
I did 30 ebay listings yesterday which I'm counting towards my 70, so only another 40 to do!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Crikey, like Cinny says, how can you still have that much stuff to sell?!
My friend is still stranded in Spain with 22 13 year olds, think the novelty has worn off now- especially as he has a sickness bug/food poisoning now! I just don't know how all of these poor people are going to get home! I'm glad we're not flying anywhere this year! A girl at work went up to Scotland on Friday and she said the trains were packed, she had to sit on the floor and they had to stop people getting on at one point because there was no more room! Hope my train isn't that bad when I go to London next week!
There's a reason house buying is classed as one of the most stressful things you do in life! Are you able to start paying the mortage a month earlier than you were planning on? Seems a little off that they didn't let you know sooner what the completion date would be!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Ah OK I see! Yes I've always thought your planning a house and wedding all in one go would be a bit stressful/expensive/both!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

I'm not really stressed thats the strange thing. If the house purchase falls though, yes, we've lost about £2000, but at the end of the day we could rent for about £500, which is a lot less than the morgage, and I could explore becoming self employed a lot more as its much less of a risk. So I'm not going to let her scare me, I will walk away if thats what it comes to.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
