Thank crunchie it's Friday. Applications to fill my job have been coming in today. There's been a few mental cover letters, one girl said 'I bleed passion', ..... that she was '22 and had never failed at anything', and that her 'passion and self pride do not permit failure'?! Also that communication is as important as breathing, and distinguishes us from the animals on the food chain (which do not communicate apparrently).

The form asks for a writing sample, and gives some examples like - a press release or an essay at university or during studies. Another girl proudly explained that she had written a short story (fictional) especially for the application. OMG it was about time travel, and was getting a bit saucy by the end! What does she think a studio manager does for clients?

Well the bad news. The hospital cancelled my MRI as they broke their MRI machine. It's resceduled for a week on Saturday.

The good news. We went wedding dress shopping instead. And I think I've found the one. It needs altering to have straps adding, but other than that its just what I want. Scarily it takes 6 months to arrive though, and the wedding is 6 months 2 weeks away.

LOL at your applicants Lara! They sound like nutjobs!

Sorry about the MRI Dinah! AT least you don't have to wait too much longer though.

Yay to finding the dress! It's pretty! Will it need more altering than just the straps once it does come in? It's cutting it a bit fine!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Sorry to hear about the scan, lets hope it is all OK next week.

The dress is gorgeous, that is a bit scary how long it takes though!

Sorry about the MRI Dinah! Bloody typical!

Properly LOLing at the application Lara! If I ever go for another job, I'm totally bagging those phrases.

Crispies, did anyone watch Eastenders?? It was actually pretty sad with Bradderz *sniffs*

ETA: That dress is lovely though Dinah, totally you! Very scary about the time frame. Eep!

It actually seems to be cheaper and quicker to buy it in the US and get it shipped over, thinking of using houseofbrides.com as they do genuine dresses, just a LOT cheaper than buying in the shops.

    CMD has gone ominously quiet....

It's DEFINATELY The Dress! Can go ahead and order it now, tomorrow we're seeing a lady about stationary, and today NIM and my dad are off suit hunting in the snow. Progress is being made.

I didn't really stick to a to do list last week, so this week I'm doing another motivational picture with a list on it as a desktop piccie. This weeks list is:
    1. Make NIM a training schedule
    2. Research wedding bands, find out if any have gigs we could see to assess their quality
    3. Sew zip into huge dress
    4. Work out what zipper foot my machine needs and order one if cheap after payday
    5. Finish second dress
    6. Finish flower section in wedding book
    7. Finish stationary section in wedding book
    8. Finish decorations section in wedding book
    9. Finish added extras section in wedding book
    10. Finish invite list section in wedding book
    11. Finish cakes section in wedding book
    12. Finish entertainment section in wedding book
    13. Finish first dance section in wedding book
    14. Finish ceremony/readings section in wedding book
    15. Finish vows section in wedding book
    16. Finish hymns section in wedding book
    17. Clear old phone and send it off
    18. List last box of books on amazon/etsy
    19. Write at least 12 reviews
    20. Submit ombudsman form
    21. Send DVDs to MM
    22. Loose at least another 1lb.
    23. Work out if where we're having the gift list, and make an appointment to go do it.
    So, big list this week.

Oh and the CC won't be under £1000 by 1st March, as £490 went on it on Friday - insurance for NIMs car. It also needs an MOT desperately. We were planning to pay for all that from NIMs Christmas money from his dad... but that still hasn't arrived. We have however decided to stop putting money aside for insurance, cat costs, contact lenses etc per month. Its better paid directly off the CC so we're not effectively paying interest on it, and then if and when these costs are incurred, we'll pay them using the CC.

I've managed to get my wedding make up for free, saving about £150, as the girl who is doing it agreed to do it free if she can have a couple of close up face shots of me to use in her portfolio - fine by me!

We've also decided to have a big of a 1950s/vintage glam theme to the wedding, which I think should be really fun. So now I want to find somewhere I can hire or buy those lovely vintage open champagne glasses rather than the modern tall skinny ones.
