Hi to everyone else! Dinah have you worked out a house/wedding plan? You have been very quiet the last few days. Hope your knee is okay

Nightmare atm, NIMs dad keeps saying hes too busy to discuss the deposit.... but we've been waiting nearly 2 months for him to be less busy, I feel that this is more than patient.

    MRI on Friday, can't wait.

Gorgeous dress Birdie, very classy and also beachy at the same time. Are you still getting a bluey coloured one for the reception? And why am I putting a y on the end of all my colours!?!

I don't think I will get a dress for the reception, I spent too much on the one dress :o I love it so much that I want to wear it twice anyway, not many brides get to wear their dress twice!

Sounds like a total nightmare with Daddy NIM, like he's avoiding you a little! It's not good when you've got a lot riding on what he says!

It's good that the MRI has finally got here! And CMDs due date! :j

    Hi everyone

Looks like it's been a busy week on here.

Dinah, well done on getting the mortgage and hope you manage to sort the deposit out with your FIL. Also hope NIM got to his new ebay home and you put airholes in the packaging :rotfl:

    Birdie, the dress is gorgeous.

Lara, hope it all goes well with the bursary and work and stuff.

CMD - good luck with your impending birth and hope labour's as quick and painless as possible.

I've had a funny week - funny as in expensive, not haha. I got the loan to cover the boiler and a new back door and thought everything was sorted until Friday when my big stupid Staffy, Wesley, broke one of his (few remaining) big teeth playing with a stick in the park. He needed surgery on Saturday to have the tooth out and the bill was £48 on Friday then £372 on Saturday  Then yesterday my 14 week old puppy got hold of Wes' painkillers and ate them and the bottle so had to be rushed to the emergency vets and be admitted. We were able to bring her home last night but the bill was £58 plus she had to go back today for a check up and we had to get poor Wes more painkillers so that was another £54  On top of that she will need a blood test in a couple of weeks to check her kidney function and Wes has to go for a check up on Friday. This afternoon the vets rang us to see why we hadn't taken Wes for his check up so I explained to them that it wasn't until Friday so obviously a visit (and payment) a day isn't enough for them!

The good news is that there is a little bit more in the wedding fund and we're actually going to start looking at venues when we get back from holiday (we're off to Paphos next Monday - and we need it!) so I can actually start to get excited then. I've also decided that I'm going to start and do some dooyoo reviews again then as I haven't been on the site for months and we need every penny.

Anyway, hope everyone's ok and I'll post again soon xxx
Let's start again (really need a kick up the bum now) :wall:

aww pilchard I hope your pups are ok!
Thanks for rating my reviews tete - if anyone else feels like it that would be good!! (And give me a shout if I've been missing u!)
I had a wierd day today, I miss my bf allready and I did a few tiny good things but a meeting went badly and knocked me for 6 really, I miss my mum and home too :(
  • Pilchard you seem to be having the worst run of money luck lately!! Glad both dogs seem as though they're going to be ok but honestly the amount vets charge is unbelievable, how can it be £50 for a human to have a tooth out but £400+ for a dog?!

Hope you're OK Tinkerbel, try not to worry about whatever knocked you, it'll not seem as bad in the morning.

Annoying about NIM's dad but you're in a difficult position that you don't want to be too demanding, hope you manage to sort something.

I made something sewn this evening :D a little wardrobe hanger thing in the shape of a cat and filled with lavender, only took me two hours as well, I'm so proud!

Excellent. Have you made any more progress on your skirt? I spent a bit of time on my dress today, its not looking very professional. Plus I need to add about 5" around my ribs and loose a similar amount in height to make it fit!

  • I thought you said you could fit three of you in it? Maybe you got the measurements mixed up, how can it be so long?? No more progress on the skirt, going to try and have a look at that tomorrow after attempting a blueberry cake... Just looking round my room now, it's like an explosion in a fabric factory :o

Not long, short. It would almost look okay if I wore flat shoes, but still a bit long. And its too big across the ribs, it was bigger but I slimmed down two side panels a bit, but I can't do it any more or it'll look wierd.

Too short deary. Long wouldn't be an issue.

Well I finished my dress this morning, it is officially made for someone a very different shape! Flat footed its about the right lenth, but its also so big I can get it on and off without the need for any zip or fastening! I think its a real size 16, going to ask my mum to try it on when she gets home tonight as shes a 16 on top and 14 on the bottom.
