Your party sounds really fun Birdie, the platters are great. Just one thing about the sky lanterns, check they can be released in the area where you are having the party. They have been banned by some councils or parish councils, especially in rural areas, as they are really bad for the environment as the metal does not degrade so litters the countryside, cows have tried to eat them and died, they've gotten stuck on powerlines, and best of all set fire to a few barns/haystacks! I was wanting to have them at my wedding rather than fireworks or anything, till I read more about them and knowing how many emvironmentalists I'll be having at the wedding who'd never speak to me again I struck them straight off!

Went to doctors this morning, signed off another 4 weeks. I'm going to be sofa shaped by then!

Thanks for that Dinah! If they are allowed by the council I'll try to find some that are somewhat better for the environment i.e. metal free if they exist!

It sucks that you don't have any immediate plans to be with your BF full time Tink! Would you move closer to him or would he come to you? Or is this one of the things 'in limbo'?

I would have thought someone could make some with some kind of fireproof lightweight wood rather than metal?!

2 1/2 weeks till the scan. Hadn't heard the flight path one! I remember seeing a woman selling them at one of the wedding fayres, she looked so, so depressed and kept turning people away as they wouldn't be able to use them.

Tete we're due to have a 'shed load' (technical meteorlogical term used by BBC Tees) of snow this afternoon.... is it just me or is the sky clear?!

I don't think we'll be near a flightpath so that shouldn't be a problem... it'll probably be less hassle to not bother though with all of the restrictions! Poor woman trying to sell them at the wedding fair!

The best useless seller I saw at a wedding fair was a 'colour expert'. For a fee she told you what colour suited you and your groom, so you could choose a colour scheme. She didn't actually provide you with anything or help you source things in your colour, she just told you what you needed! How pointless is that?! OH's Mum was with me and she pretty much told the woman how useless she was! Hehe.

It's clear and sunny here but freezing. I hope it doesn't snow, I really can't be bothered with all of that nonsense again!
