Four magazines? Normal people walk around with dumbells or velcroed on ankle weights.
Did you find any inspiration lurking between the pages?Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Days to payday: 26

I live in hope that just reading the slimming magazines will make me slim!!!!
Oh my God, I have spent a fortune.
£1.00 - newspaper yesterday.
£10.00 - pub yesterday
£97.12 - Tesco (£12.93 in multisaves; £4.75 on tupperware boxed - where do all the lids go? £4.07 on chocolate for DS2's chocolate tombola stall at his gala, so £88.30 on food)
£65.52 - farm shop (all fresh fruit & veg and meat in the freezer).
£12.00 - bracelet for friend's birthday (pleased as I had budgeted £20)
£0.99 - card for friend's birthday
Unfortunately car developed a completely flat, non fixable tyre so DH had to take it to nearest tyre place (that we knew of) which was the hideously expensive Kwik Fit. Although the website advertised their cheapest at £90, surprise surprise they only had the £160 ones in our size in stock. They then went and told us that two other tyres were nearing the legal tread limit and did we want to get them changed. Errr not at £160 each we didn't. SO a colleague of mine pointed out somewhere cheap near where DH works and we rang them and they can do us then for £66 each + VAT including fitting so that's saved quite a bit. They're going to be fitted tomorrow. Along with the car tax (not paid yet that's £428 out of my car fund with the MOT and service due next month so I desperately need to save some more money to get it built up again).
Also shouldn't need to do a big shop for a couple of weeks so although I did spend a lot (gulp) it will last.
Gas and electric bills came today. Extremely chuffed to see that I am £60.84 in credit with the gas and they are kindly putting my payments down from £110 to £90. Not putting the electric down though (or up) and I am £23.18 in credit.
DH went to the dentist today, I thought it was his final appointment but he needs to go back for a root canal in August so I haven't had to pay out for the dentists that I was expecting to have to do so.

Whilst it might feel like payday is 9 months away it really isn't.
Looks like it might be helpful if you leave your purse at home occasionally then you can't get suckered into the random spends that keep cropping up.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Blimey, it's a while since I last updated! I haven't been keeping a track of my spends either.
Did Lightwater Valley yesterday and spent rather a lo but it was worth it and we had a really good day.
£55.80 - entry fee
£27.96 - lunch (not worth it, rip off but I will hold my hand up as I opted not to take a packed lunch as I didn't want to be dragging a bag around with me all day)
£6.00 - entry fee to the Birds of Prey centre (didn't realise we had to pay to get into here, which again I think was a rip off because of the entry fee to the theme park).
£7.00 - ice creams / drinks (I know, I know).
£30.00 - petrol (125 mile round trip).
I know it's a lot but we're not having a holiday this year (again) and we rarely go out and spend vast amounts of money on family entertainment.

Have had some other random spends but haven't been keeping track of them. Probably amounts to no more than a tenner anyway since I last updated.
I'm off work all this week too, and have warned the kids I don't have a bottomless pit of money to keep them entertained. I foresee lots of walks, inviting schoolfriends round, and playing on the Wii.
I also want to try and sort the conservatory out. It's full to the rafters of all the crap that was upstairs and it';s boxes and boxes full of games, so along with the housework and entertaining the children, I think I need to dedicate a couple of hours per day sorting through stuff.
Oh - DH earned himself another £50 by fixing someone's computer, and he's got another job on next week too so hoping he wont be pestering me for extra money this month. He's also asked his boss about mileage (having done 100 work miles alone in the last week) and his boss said he needs to just submit a mileage claim at the end of each month which will then be paid out the next month.Start Date: 27/11/2010

If you're not up to much today and have decluttering to do, it's free listing on Ebay.
I'm about to suffer through that just now!0 -
