I haven't been near here in ages so you all know what I have been up to don't you?

Am having a nervous breakdown with 24 days left to payday and barely a penny left already.

Really need help and motivation. Credit cards are now up to (gulp) £7082.68 thanks to buying the car last month and putting road tax and car insurance on it.

Work situation looks bleak. My job is definitely redundant in the new structure however they haven't given us a date for when this will happen. There will be new roles I can apply for but I can't guarantee I will get one of those. My current wage is just shy of £20k, but I'm going to be lucky if I can get £17 for any office job in my home town, which will drastically reduce my income.

I went to a motivational talk disguised as a drama workshop at DS2 school where they tried to get you to follow your dreams by following the SMART principles, so I think I need to try and achieve that to my debts and over spending. Have to think about a SPECIFIC, MEASURABLE, ACHIEVABLE, REALISTIC, TIMESCALE kinda thing now. I guess I need to post an SOA to do that. I'll try and do that tomorrow.

Had two domestic disasters this month already and only got paid a week ago, a new car battery at £45, and a leak from the water tank at £50

    Oh god, feel so glum.

    You're back, you're back, you're back!!!!

Don't be glum. All things are achievable with a "right then, this just won't do" attitude.

We need a SOA immediately (And you need to send me a CV missus...!) and we will do what we can.

The best thing about MSE is that we all fall off the wagon but we support each other in getting back on.

    *adopts stern face*

Less of the glum. When you feel glum you buy stuff to make yourself feel better, but you know you can't afford it which makes you feel glum again. You need to be a Happy Positive Floozie :D

Now, for the motivation and help part.

You need extra cash so you can pay a little off the cards which will instantly make you feel like you're taking control.

I know you hate Ebay, but it's Free Listing Weekend (again!) so list ten things. Do more if you can, but start with ten. When you get the money you will feel as though you're doing something.

Look for old CDs/DVDs/games and list them for sale on Amazon or Music Magpie. Get the kids to help. If the worst happens with work you're going to have to get them used to having less money for treats. I know someone on here (I think it's millyscarlett) gets her girls to sell their old things on Ebay for school trips/treats which is a good habit to get the little blighters into!

How's the grocery budget looking, can we look into helping you cut that down? I'm ready with the red font for the SOA now :D

Keep posting, even if you're being a Bad Floozie. We'll keep you right!

I have put in stuff for running costs of the car / house insurance etc but in reality I don't put any of that away.

Loan last payment is not til February 2015

    Car dates:
    My MOT: June 2011
    My Road Tax: Feb 2011
    My Car Insurance: Oct 2011
    DH MOT: May 2011
    DH Road Tax: Nov 2010
    DH Insurance: Mar 2011

Snowball Calculator shows that the minimum payments will mean it's paid off in ten years! If I want to pay it off by the time the loan is due to finish that means I have to pay £170 per month, so that's £204 per month I actually need to 'shave off' my outgoings.
