£0.00 - no spends, no vends!

See you can do it when you want:T

£0.69 - Yorkie - (don't look at me like that FF, we aint starting our diet til next week LOL)
£1.30 - Hot chocolate at footy training tomorrow
£1.50 - bacon butty at footy training tomorrow.

DH is down to his last £15. I told him there would be no subs from me but I know damn well that I will.

If FF can do 'tough love' with you then why can't you do it with OH? When he told you to shut up that would have definitely done it for me. If he wants to spend money he can't afford instead of budgeting/stretching his spends (and I say this as a smoker and drinker myself) then let him manage the rest of the month on his own. Sorry for rant:p I just feel all the effort comes from you and you're trying so hard.

No wonder your DH doesn't worry about budgeting for the month! As you always stump up for whatever he wants there isn't much incentive!:o

But hey you're doing really well on all the budgets apart from from him.:money:

No spends day today. Only got chance to update my figures yesterday because him indoors were loitering about.

I know I have given in and subbed him (well, I haven't subbed him because I probably wont take it back off next month's wage otherwise same will just happen again). I just thought to myself that 10 days is a long time to expect him to go without cigarettes, so I did say I would buy him a carton of 200 cigs that I would dole out one pack per day, but after a long day spent thinking about it, he asked if he could have a packet of 10 cigs and a bottle of wine (which would cost the same as a pack of 20 cigs).

I know I moan about him but he never spends money on anything else (clothes, CDs etc) and he rarely goes out. He never pesters for gadgets and is fairly cheap to run. I just get frustrated when he runs out of money and just expects the money fairy to conjour some up from nowhere. He did admit he knows he shouldn't be drinking two bottles of wine per night so said he would just stick to one in future. I'll believe that when it happens.

It has been a really expensive month too: off the top of my head, weekend away, 4 social events and a birthday to buy for, so next month (hopefully) should be cheaper (although it is school holidays which means new uniforms). Have two school trips (pocket money) and a weekend to get through til payday so guess I will land in the £100+ overdrawn mark,

(PS - bought some batteries for the weighing scales last night, wish I hadn't have bothered - have put on 7lbs in three weeks! I don't even think I have been eating excessively, for me).

Now, I stopped drinking (mostly!) a while ago, but isn't two bottles of wine per night beyond a wee drink and into scary territory?

Seems like a lot of cash to pour down the drain...?

How about getting him into homebrew? An ex of mine used to make wonderful elderflower "champagne" and red elderberry "burgundy" wine. There are probably kits too if he doesn't fancy picking the flowers and fruit and wants "proper" grape wine.

His mum used to make home brew and she would give him a bottle now and then, which he always enjoyed. I might look into that, see how expensive and time consuming it is? Good idea.

Well, sorry I haven't updated for a few days but things have been really hectic, and both kids have been hogging the computer all week. I've got the whole day to myself because eldest DS has gone with his dad to play in a footy tournament. I was due to take youngest DS to his footy practice however he's now decided he wants to go with his dad and brother to watch the tournament. In the meantime DS1's mate and his mum had asked for a lift, which means no room for me in the car. I'm just about to try and do a load of tidying up / cleaning but trouble is I am not very motivated. I've been on my own for an hour, and just had a shower, washed and dried my hair, and eaten some sugar puffs - not very productive for an hour?

Unfortunately I haven't been keeping a running tally of things I have spent since Wednesday night and I should have been! I'll try and remember

    Wednesday
£0.60 - 2 bags of sweets at football practice.
£7.89 - fruit from the farm shop.
£0.60 - can of pop from vending machine

    Thursday
£1.65 - chocolate from the newsagents (me, ahem)
£1.50 - I opted out of the tea fund but I have been having a biscuit (or 2, or more) every day
£2.65 - lunch (quiche, chips and a slice of egg custard)

    Friday
£3.20 - lunch (masala fish in a naan - bloody lush)
£6.00 - entry fee to 'pantomine' at DS2's school (3 of us)
£1.00 - raffle tickets at above (I won a zebra print Next handbag)
    £1.00 - 50p each to DS's for a drink.

    Saturday
£20.00 - Given to DH because I have zero food in the house to make a packed lunch to take to footy so gave him this to spend at the burger van, McDonalds, corner shop whatever. Plus DS1 also needs a £3 entry fee. I do have a feeling a packet of cigarettes may also feature.

Right, I have finished my sugar puffs, off to start on the hovel that is upstairs!

I'm not in the best of moods today.

Did Morrisons last night. Just went down to get enough food for the weekend, and packed lunches and came away spending £43.35. So not only am I over budget for food, but tomorrow I still have to go down and buy in for three days worth of evening meals.

On Saturday DS1 sprang a party invitation on me, paintballing of all things. Now, I have never been paintballing so have no experience at all of it, so I said he could go. I bought the birthday boy a card and withdrew £10 cash to put in it. This morning DS1 has asked for an extra £20 and announced that they got some "free" paintballs, but they wouldn't last long and it was £6 for an extra 200 paintballs and his friend had suggested that his party guests bring along £20 extra because they would need to buy some extra paintballs!!!!!!!! I'm really not happy about it, but what can I do? Also, the place is 17 miles away, so we could have to make two round trips (68 miles) or DH might have to hang around (34 miles), but with only 130 miles left in the tank before we need petrol again, it's looking like we might not even bloody last til payday. If DS1 had told me all this before the party, I would have said a resounding "No you can't go!".

I cannot believe how long and how expensive this month has been!!!!!

That would annoy the hell out of me, some parents are so inconsiderate! Is there anyone you could share the lifts with so you do one way and they do the other? Or could DS go with the birthday boys parents to save you doing either?
