FARMFOODS - What's hot and what's not?

Just in defence of Farmfoods SA, of which I was one until recently;
Speaking from experience of the shop I worked in, we were very understaffed. Generally speaking from about ten till five, the queue was always almost out the door. Yes, we had three tills, and only two were in use, but that was as one till was being 'cashed up' upstairs by the manager, so one till had NO change in it atall, and for obvious reasons could not then be used.
Consider as well that nearly every person in that queue is probably clutching the milk and bread deals, plus whatever else they have decided to purchase. This means the milk and bread in particular runs out on the shelf very quickly. A full fridge of milk probably lasts less than half an hour during peak times. Usually we would have three SA's and one manager in at peak times. This allows for two people on the tills, and one person to put out stock (which is a never ending job!), with the manager cashing up the third till and ordering new stock. During lunch time, one person is on lunch, which leaves two people on tills AND somehow managing to put out the milk and bread as well.
The amount of times I have been clearly harassed trying to get through as many people as possible on the tills to be asked 'nae milk hen?' by several people. If I was then to leave the tills to restock milk/bread I would get abuse from the people in the queue! You really can't win, it is not my fault we are understaffed, I am on minimum wage and do my best for every customer, but I cannot be in two places at one time!0 -

I have noticed this as well that the till staff are expected to refill the empty shelves at the same time! However the Hillington shop is always busy and the staff are all very nice despite being run off their feet! I always get my milk and bread there and rarely do they run out!Must learn not to count chickens before they are hatched!!!!:D
Every day is a new challenge not a new problem!:p

Try emailing them at customerservices@farmfoods.co.uk
Or just ask next time you are in, you don't have to actually try to pay for something with a cheque, just ask if they accept them.
If you are embarrassed about it just tell them a friend said she was going to buy some things in there last week, but didn't because she didn't have enough cash on her and only had her cheque book, and didn't want to try to pay for the items with a cheque and find they didn't accept them.0 -

No, they don't.0 -
My twopenneth for what it's worth...Chill sauce £1 bottle superb for dips
Milk 8 pints for £1.50, bread Hovis, White, Wholemeal, Best of Both 2 for a £1, sugar was cheaper, anybody like Pork Scratchings in Asda 5 bags Mr Porky £1.32 in FF 6 for the price of 5 = £1, crisps looked value, and the kitchen towels were slightly dearer than Iceland but certainly better quality.
Not happy with own brand Chopped Tomatoes 4 for a £1, very poor quality and taste.0 -
you can get powered curry and it tasty exactly the same as the take ways and restaurants ..I swear“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

Their Potato Wedges are great.
Nether understood why people give an SA a hard time, if you dont like the SA use another till next time.
Nether understood why people moan about bare shelve's when they are going in to stock up themselves.0 -

The ones in the near my work are too, and seem to welcome a smiling face and someone being polite with them. Probably because the usual client group tends to be a little chav and the SA have to stop shoplifters, stack shelves, do the tills etc all on a very low number of staff. I can put up with the slow service because it's cheap. At the end of the day you can have no more than two of three from high quality, low price and high speed.0
