I work in farmfoods; alot of the products in farmfoods are 2 for £1, or 4 for a £1 deals etc, and these can all be mix and matched across the store. So if u don't think you would use 2 loaves before the use by date, then you could get a loaf and potatoes etc.

    Some of the deals 2 for £1;
    bread
    potatoes
    porridge oats
    pancakes
    crumpets
    different biscuits etc
    carton orange or apple juice
    ambrosia custard

It is also worth generally checking around the store for deals, as items are often 'reduced for quick sale' (red stickers) when they are close to the use by date. For 'dry goods' eg things like packets of biscuits, swiss rolls, Madeira cake etc, this is if their is 4 weeks left on the use by! Reduced for quick sale items are usually less than half price.

The fridgerated section is also worth checking when you're in, as sometimes you can get a bargain, a few weeks ago we had a four pack of (good sized) yoghurts with a fruit layer in for 20p. Two weeks ago we had 150g grated cheese for 19p. Today we had bottles of orange and mango fresh fruit drinks in 5 for a £1 (the kind of stuff you'd pay upwards of a £1 for one in cafes/petrol stations, and ideal for work/kids lunches.

Anything with yellow pricing is also worth a look, these are used to draw your attention to products, often the price is no different from normal, but sometimes it will highlight offers or reduced price. We had frozen vegetarian bean burgers in for 50p a packet, which sold out within the day.

"I can't believe its not butter" is also buy one get one free at the moment.

Schweppes lemonade big bottles, 2 for £1.50.

Mcvities ginger nut biscuits and fox's cream tea biscuits 19p each.

    Irn bru big bottles £1

5 x six pack of irn bru cans are £5

3 tins of heinz tomato or veg soup £1

4 tins of heinz lentil or chicken soup £2

part baked bread rolls (6 of)/ 2 part baked baguettes 49p

pack naan bread and pitta breads 49p

tins chopped tomatoes/peeled tomatoes 3 for £1 (taste alot nicer than asda/tesco etc supermarket own brand)

tinned veg/fruit (princess) is 59p (or 49- cant remember)

The bread and milk prices, I think are going to remain low, as I have noticed some other items creep up in price by a few pence. Eg, haribo used to be 75p, now 79p. Big bottles of pepsi used to be 95p now £1, Lucozade big bottles used to be £1.19, now £1.29 (only £1 in poundland) etc.

farmfoods also take the 'healthy start' vouchers (milk tokens) which allow you £3.10 worth of milk, fresh fruit or veg.

Farmfoods are good for a lot of things, the only things I wont buy from them is their own brand as I think it is not as good as other brands.
    Like good food and drink?
    Try Hotel Chocolat and Baileys.

  • I loved the chicken 3 for £10 too, great buy, sadly missed!:o

My local FF is going downhill at an increasing rate of knots.

2 litre bottles of Pepsi were 79p but have increased to £1.

Despite having four tills only two are ever used no matter how many people are queueing.
There are no 'next customer' dividers for the belt and it's a constant battle to keep your shopping separate from everybody else's.

The staff are disinterested and don't pay attention to what they are doing. I was overcharged by £5 last time as the SA was more interested in having a shouting match with another SA at the back of the shop. :(

I do know what you mean, ours is similar with tills/dividers etc. The staff are very good at packing shopping to help though and have carried a tray of juice out to my car for me before now. I think, provided you have the time, shopping around is the only answer. I just go to FF for specific things that I know are good value but ignore things I know are cheaper elsewhere (like the Cadbury's Options drinking chocolate at £1.28 that they sell in the £1 shop).

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I did a forum search and found nothing.

At the moment, Farm Foods are selling Hovis bread (white/brown/best of both) at 2 for £1, and milk (4 pint semi skimmed or full) at 2 for £1.50.
Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!
