  • Popped into Farmfoods this afternoon as it is next to my nearest Lidl store.

    A couple of fab offers:-

Birds Eye Simply Baked to Perfection Salmon, 2 individually packed fillets in each box. Normally £3.00 per box, but BOGOF.

2 litres of Robinsons Summer Fruits Squash for £1.39p.

2 litres of milk is still £1.00 or 2 for £1.60 (was £1.50), but still a fab deal.

    Hope this helps somebody.

Some good offers in Lidl too, will just check if they have been posted already, if not I will post.
MSE Addiction, should come with a health warning:money:
  • Does anyone know if the 3 bags of chicken breasts for £10 is still available.
  • No the three bags of chicken breasts for a tenner has not been available for ages.

I went into Farmfoods today after seeing their duck in the offers leafet that came through my door. It's half a crispy aromatic duck like the ones you get from the chinese - comes with 12 pancakes and a sachet of the sauce and it's on offer for £2.95 :o My local chinese take away charges £12. You'd need to buy the cucumber and spring onions and chop them up if you want it like the chinese, I did this as it was still loads cheaper. And it tastes pretty much as good as ones I get from take aways - and dead easy you just cut open the packet and pop the duck in the oven for 30-40mins, then shred it but it doesn't have any bones in (mine didn't anyway!) making it even easier. Will definately keep buying this as it's only £3.95 full price too.

They also had 2kg bags of skinny fries in the leaflet for £1.50 which I tought was good, but when I got there they were £1.50 each or 2 packs for £2 which was even better (ths helpful guy on the till pointed this out to me as I somehow missed the sign!). Also these re fries you can either cook in the oven or deep frier, which I like as I sometimes do both and most frozen chips seem to say you can do one or the other, but not both.

Got a couple of other things too but they weren't as amazing bargains - one I did think was v.good though was packs of 18 rashers of back bacon - 3 packs for £5. In fact there were loads of other things I'd have bought if I had more money and freezer space. It's ages since I've been to farmfoods and I'd forgotten how good it is.

Ooh, I think I might try the duck. Silly question, but did the duck have skin on? it's just that I bought one from Sainsburys the other day, but they'd taken all of the skin off (my favourite bit).

Hey, yep it did have skin on, but no bones which was a bonus for me! (Don't take my word for this though check yours haha) And I'd say it wasn't QUITE as good as ones from a restaraunt but very close, and for quarter of the price it was definately much more than quarter of the quality! Also I couldn't work out if you get quite as much as in a chinese - it filled 12 pancakes but didn't seem to be quite as much in each as I usually get - but this could be cause I chopped up a bit too much cucumber and onion so more of this might have made it feel like less duck, and I usually get the quarter duck from the chinese so maybe that makes a difference. Again though it was very close, and I don't think I'll be buying it from the chinese anymore considering the huge difference in price! Let me know what you think when you try it :)

hi i was wonder if you no when there milk offer ends? with 4 young kids we go through between 10/14 a week, also do they have good dates? i normally by milk from iceland and there milk normally has 7-9 days dates from when bought, thankyou.

The milk offer has been on for as long as I can remember and is great. I tend to get it 4 bottles at a time as we go through a silly amount too. It's gone from £1.50 to £1.60 but that's still not bad.:) If you are in Mr S or particularly Mr T look out for a Fresh and L brand. It's often on for 79p for 2l too.

Other good things to get include the frozen rhubarb (brilliant for crumbles), broccoli is far superior to the supermarket frozen stuff, tear and share garlic bread is amazing but it has also gone up recently. The LA Diner pizzas are good as is the frozen mince and onion mix. Agree about the chicken breasts. Last lot we got from Mr S were tiny but the Farmfoods ones are pretty big.

To also be unoriginal the toilet paper is fab!:D

Farmfoods well worth visiting regularly for the bits and pieces that suit your eating habits. I'm lucky in that I live nearby and can get my milk there.

I tried a half leg of lamb (NZ, frozen the other week and it was delicious. I think it's gone up a bit now but I paid about £7 for it.

Orange juice at 59p a litre is good BUT sugar has gone up from 59p per kg to 89p in just a few weeks:eek: Aldi or £shop is best price I've seen. Shopping around is best.
