Lamb with garlic and rosemary certainly, but anchovies? Wouldn't be my choice. If we are supposed to be thin, why does chocolate exist?0

I made spicy rice with my left over roast chicken. It was delicious. Fried onion, red and yellow pepper, mushrooms, then added chicken, left over pan juices, sweet chiili sauce, cayenne pepper and basmati rice. Here dead we lie because we did not choose

Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

I've cooked 3 new things this week
Sea bream on the BBQ - wrapped in foil with a little ghee and salt and pepper
White spelt bread with 1/4 stoneground spelt
Soup from leeks, carrots, adzuki beans and beet stalks - turns out very purple but was delicious. The stalks were too stingy so next time I need to either use beets or omit them. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
I thought I would try to resurrect this, as I really enjoyed doing it, and we have been getting much better at cooking out of a rut in our house
(and more fish and veggie :A:D)
The reason I thought of it is that we had the most delicious dinner from river cottage everyday tonight-fried fish fillets with herby butter sauce and it was DELICIOUS! :j:j(I used some dill as well as a little mint and a little parsley, we had trout fillets, and served with brocolli) By the way ignore the title on the link-the ingredients and method are for the herby butter ones
So far this week we have also had a variation of the moroccan slow cooked lamb from economy gastronomy, which was also very nice, tomorrow we are having Jamie Oliver's oozy mushroom risotto and friday should be smoked haddock carbonara
And next week we are hoping for caramelised basa fillets, chicken tartiflette and a salmon laska from my recipe folder (not sure what mag it came from and I can't find it online
What yummy new things are you planning on cooking?0 -
What a brilliant thread :j I love trying/inventing(with varying degrees of success!!) new recipes.
New recipes this week were carrot scones and fish chowder, and I shall be attempting chicken liver pate at the weekend. Nothing crazy but just things I've never cooked before.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
