That would just drive me nuts TBH.

Glad I am not the only one.

Sometimes I worry that I am unreasonable :rotfl:

Is it any wonder I am stressed most of the time:rotfl:
  • Hi EE, I really have no words of wisdom for you just a big hug.

Really don't know how you put up with it, if it was me I would be out the door for my own sanity, I really don't think you can help him until he decides to help himself.

    Sorry if that sounds harsh.

Ditto pwps. I don't know how you cope either, you are amazing! I am filled with admiration at how you just keep slogging away at it. I do hope the tide turns and things get easier for you soon.

Thanks for your comments - I don't really know why I stay to be honest - I think it is the sex :rotfl:

I know he is ill and I think this is why I am so forgiving. I have already distanced myself by having seperate bank accounts, I just need a bit more money in his account each month so that some can be put away for car repairs etc.

Friday was a bit spendy - had booked annual leave for the whole day as an important meeting was booked in so went in. Then an email came to say that the meeting was cancelled , so I saw my client and went home at lunchtime with DH which saved the bus fare :T

He collected his wood which cost him £10 (the rest of his pin money) - I tried to speak to him about this and he said I can't give him pocket money and take it away again. I told him that sometimes sacrifices have to be made but he said it was only £10 so what good was that if the truck costs £700+.
He cannot see that all the little bits add up

Popped to Tesco for Organic milk & teabags etc - £16.35.

Had DD's school fete - we ran the book stall - most of the books were donated by me anyway :rotfl:. Not sure how we did but will find out soon.

Took £25 (£15 from home and £10 from bank account) - DD had £5 which she spent and we brought home £11.60 - only spent money on food instead of me needing to cook.

On Friday night DH tells me that we need to talk - yup he mentions the meat chickens, I say we can't afford it, and he starts a spiel about saving money in the long rung etc. I stood my ground so he went moodily to bed :rotfl:

On Saturday he mentioned going to the Post Office to post some parcels so I asked if he wanted to go alone (thinking he would get the chickens), he said we could all go so we did and just went to the PO :rotfl:

We did some decorating and housework for the rest of the day.

I also admitted to DH that I knew he had ordered some meat chickens and feed so why had he not admitted it. He went bright red and didn't say anything - I said he should have emailed the man - he said he wouldn't

DH wanted fish and chips for tea but I cooked pizza and jacket potatoes.

Today was very spendy, DS starts work experience next week. 1 placement is really casual and the other is smart casual so got him some polo shirts for the 1st week and for the second we got smart trousers, 5 shirts and 1 jumper. Primark cost £86.50 (plus got single duvet cover and fitted sheet £13.50)

Then went to Brantano as DD has broken her school shoes, I usually buy Clarks which last all year so not sure why they didn't last this time, I replaced them with a pair for £12.99 from Shoe Zone on 30/5 so with half term she has had them for 3 weeks and ruined them. Today I got a pair of Skechers which will hopefully last until November plus got DS a pair of casual shoes as he only has trainers - Cost in Brantano - £46.

DH needed filler for the walls - £3.99 plus £2 for some glasses.

Popped to Lidl for pack up bits - £17.33.

Then went to see a smallholding which was 36 miles away so as we were going to be late home I got McDonalds for everyone - Cost £22 . My food account debit card got declined so had to use my own account - will make sure I get this back.

Not heard about the truck yet, hope he rings tomorrow as need to know what is happening.

There was still no word on the truck and DH finally realised that we knew nothing about the guy who took the truck away :rotfl:

Managed to find his number on caller display, put it in Google and it brought up a garage so all fine.

Drove down there on Tuesday and he is still working on it, the diagnostic chip (or whatever it is) is faulty which is why our garage cannot link it to the machine, he can't either (he also has the same truck and his will link up). Still not sure what the fault is but he is doing it the old fashioned way by taking it all apart to find the fault.

Luckily he has given DH a car to use as we have had 2 cars for about 8 years and I think catching the bus home on Monday was a step too far for DH :rotfl:as I needed my car as I was at work all day and DS is on work experience so it would be more expensive for me and DS to catch the bus.

Still trying not to spend any money.

Today I was due to meet my friend and was weighing up whether I could afford it or not (my time to pay) and thought sod it - it's DH's truck - he should pay the majority - I have never asked him to pay my repair bills (one time he put it on his credit card and I paid it off over a few months but this is not the same as we have no credit cards now)

Was doing housework this morning and put away a handbag which I last used on a night out to the chinese, that night I withdrew £50 and thought I had spent it all but when I opened the handbag there was £20 in it :T

I guess this is the universe providing :j

Also found some change around the house - lunch came to £21 so I paid in cash. We then had ice creams which was £7 which I put on my debit card so not too much of a spend after all.

Still trying to decide whether to contact Barclaycard and ask for reduced payments - the cons of this is that I will get a default which will stay for 6 years - the pros are that interest will stop/reduce and charges will stop.
If I paid the debt off at the same rate I should pay but without interest I would clear it in 3.5 years. If I carry on paying interest it will take about 50 years

If I didn't have to help DH with his truck this month I could afford it but I am 1 month behind already and I need to pay £300 which I can't do.

I'm thinking about offering reduced payments and then saving the £170 I pay them with Credit Union and when I have enough to clear the balance I could pay it in full.
It would also look good if I need a loan from them in the future.

Will speak to DH about it - not that he is much good at making decisions or about finances :rotfl:

    :(
Why do I always lose my enthusiasm for my diary

I was in quite a good routine of posting regularly and then I run out of time to come and post - things will have to change.

I am subscribed to so many diaries that it takes me ages to catch up - I have the updates sent by email once a day so I don't forget where I am but when I catch up it takes ages as I can only catch up once or twice a week.

The problem with me is that I am so nosy :rotfl: and I just love to read about other people's lives.

I don't have much time to watch TV so everything gets recorded - then we end up recording more than we get round to watching until we are at our limit - this was cured the other month when DH brought a bigger memory thing so now we have 100% more space - I like it but it surely defeats the object of making sure you watch everything :(

I should really do house work in the evenings but I don't I leave it to the weekend - but then I get annoyed as DH does nothing to help at the moment and I feel like the evenings are my time to wind down.

Yesterday was a mega catch up day as the prev weekend was carnival weekend which I was helping with so only did the bare essentials of housework like washing school uniform. So while I did loads of washing, tidied the lounge, hoovered and what not, DH decides that it would be ideal to finish the dog run he is rebuilding
Never mind sorting his clothes out that have littered the bedroom floor for weeks and then moaning when his stuff does not get washed

The ironic thing is that we don't even have a dog and are unlikely to get one for at least the next 5 years - we use the run when the turkeys are ready to start venturing outside but really they are fine - so not sure what the rush is for - it would be better for him to have done something much more important :mad:
Then when I went to get him at 5 (he is working at our other house) he said he would be home shortly, we found a movie to watch and he sauntered in 1.5 hours later :eek:

I am so fed up of his mood swings - it is a side effect of his medication but I told him I would rather have him with a painful head and be happy rather than being aggressive :rotfl:
The pain has reduced by loads but he has a foggy head which makes concentrating difficult.

He is such a complex character even when he is not on these meds - if he does not do something which involves building something or sorting something out he feels like it is a wasted weekend whereas I think as long as I have relaxed and been able to do the housework that is fine.
If DH does not do what he wants he is super moody for days - must be his depression :(

I know I am moody for 1 week out of 4 and my moods are awful so I have been reading up about VitB6 but I also read that a more natural herbal rememdy is agnus castus which I brought yesterday. Apparently it helps to regulate your moods and your monthly cycle etc :T
I am giving it a try as my monthly cycle has been out of kilter for years and I have an ovarian cyst which I refused to have removed (worry about anaesthetic) and every so often it gives me more gyp than usual:(

So the reason for my anti-DH rant today is that common thing..............spending :eek::mad:

Dh has been spending on ebay again , he had some money from selling things but he has used it on electrical stuff which is not that important and then expected me to pay for the part for his truck :mad::mad:

It is defintely the fuel pump (up to £1000 brand new:eek:), we bought a second hand one but right year, wrong model so had to get a refund on that less 10%.
Have now got one off ebay but is in Yorkshire so the guy has offered to post it.

I am so angry about it, why can he not learn. And when I mentioned it to him he said that it did not matter if we did not have the money to pay the garage as he was going to suggest working for free for him to pay the debt off :eek:
I swear I could kill him sometimes - this man does not even know us, he is hardly going to let DH have his truck back without paying for the repair :p

So I guess I will have to pay for it :eek:
I had only just mentioned to DH and the kids about getting yearly tickets for Colchester Zoo as we go a few times a year using clubcard vouchers but now I don't use Tesco much we don't get as many and it works out well cheap if we buy a years ticket.

I was going to tell relative to get his own as to be honest when he comes places with us he takes so long to walk around that we end up as a split group and I hate it.

The less said about him the better - I came close the other day to telling him that we were moving back home and he could go into sheltered

I have been tracking some of the food spends but need to write it up so will do that this week.

And I didn't realise you were so near to me with Colchester Zoo. We had passes last year but we went so many times (we are only 15 min drive at the most) that we decided not to this year. We were only going in the end to see the sun bears, the chimps & the park :rotfl:
