Can I add a vote for Myers? We spent a lot of money on a pocket sprung mattress from Relyon and if we are having trouble sleeping move to the spare room where we have a Myers basic open coil 'firm comfort' mattress. Guests actually remark on how well they've slept on it. My sister wanted to buy it from me!
Buying a mattress is very much down to the individual and you could argue forever on preferences. I take the view that if I am getting a good nights sleep now and it doesn't last so long it's still worth the money. How many people are putting up with a bad mattress because they spent a lot of money on it? If it's not comfortable change it. Think of it as lasting 8 to 10 years which works out at coppers per night. The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

My point is, why buy a well known brand that costs a lot of money, and that won't last as long, when you can buy an independent brand that is higher quality, will last longer, and will cost far less?0 -
I'm trying to find a mattress supplier who will let you try before you buy as you suggested and not having much luck. Can you point me in the right direction?

I must have an obliging dealer near to me then! They offered a 30day satisfaction guarantee, so if I wasn't happy within a month that I could take it back, no charge.Tim_Deegan wrote: »Unfortunately most don't. You would have to google 'satisfaction guarantee' and then read the terms and conditions carefully.
They're not all that nice then?!:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. I've recently helped a friend sort out getting a new bed.
These are the items they purchased.
Madrid double mattress:
http://www.onlinebeds.com/index.php
£429 all in. Delivered within 2 days.
Montpellier Bed Frame.
http://www.furnishyourhome.co.uk/Metal-Beds/The-Montpellier-Metal-Bed-Frame-By-Hyder.htm
Story behind this bed frame. Originally ordered via Bedworld. Don't go there. Cancelled order because of bad reviews and the time scale for delivery. To give Bedworld their due they did refund the balance of £20 when I told them we had found it cheaper and received prompt refund when we cancelled the order.
Furnishyourhome were great. When I phoned their geographical phone number guy phoned manufacturer to see whether it was in stock. It was and he delivered it the next day! Delivery guys were on time and very courteous.
Bedding.
Well the madrid mattress is very deep. I was originally going to purchase 600TC deep fitted sheets, but they were out of stock. Ended up buying double flat sheets instead. Pleased I did. The mattress appears slightly raised so it's easy to tuck the sheets under and they stay put. It is extremely comfortable and my friend is thrilled to bits with it.
I also purchased the luxury pure cotton mattress protector, again, deep fitted.
Bedding can be purchased here:
http://www.duvetandpillowwarehouse.co.uk/default.htm
This company is also on ebay and if you spend £20 or more P&P is free.

Sorry to have gone on, but hope it helps.
Edit: We also purchased silk winter warmth duvet. But I would recommend one goes up a size ie if double bed get king size duvet.0 -
