You get more out of someone by holding a gun to his head and making threats, once you pull the trigger you get nothing. And it doesn't solve the problem of him being a public menace.

Shop away, one bit of guilt free shopping
It's people like that that cause the bitterness on these boards against people who legitimately need these benefits.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

I vote for grassing as well.
I never fail to get surprised by the amount of tax i have to pay every month. OK it wont go down by him getting caught but it's the right thing to do.
If it makes you feel any better I have done it.0 -
Hey SugaJen,
Hope you've spilled your guts, you ex sounds a bit like mine, except my ex was an abusive drug dealer, who spent every waking hour travelling and playing to the most expensive golf courses while he had people peddling and growing his wares. He doesnt work / contribute / give a £*%$ about anyone, a quick call to crimestopers would have done it? Yeah right! TBH SugaJen, even if you do "grass" dont expect results, different agencies use different formulas to decide who they will pursue. It may be hard when you do snitch, and nothing happens- be preparead for this, it may take months if they do follow it up.All you can do, is put it in the appropriate hands, try and give them as much information as possible and sit back......Good luck with it, you're doing the right thing.RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

Only just read this thread and have to agree with most of the replies. I had an ex who didn't tell council when I was living with him so he got benefits etc. Also did the cash in hand and driving without license. Someone grassed on him and I was glad of it. Only thing was, I ended paying the fines like a mug!!! Make sure nothing can be linked back to when you were together.
Grass and claim the reward. Why should he get away with not paying his way either in society or to you. Scumbags like this deserve what they get. Be aware he might get a custodial sentence depending on how much he has defrauded. As long as you feel your kids won't be affected by that go ahead.
Good luck and well done on doing the right thing.:T0 -
yeah people like him should be reported but there are other genuinely needy people who by a technicality are "fraudsters" - I don't want to go into details but there are some people who through no fault of their own are on income support and supposedly "fraudsters" but to these people I am happy for my taxes to support...
...after all, we all support the royal family with our taxes, don't we? :rolleyes:0 -
I don't agree with grassing on people but looks like you have a good reason to0

I know what you mean Crabby but the driving without insurance etc. is the one that really gets me. What's the point of us paying for ours if it becomes totally useless if hit by a git like him?
There are so many people, especially young families where they struggle but do things by the book that those who just don't bother make me angry. It's usually those that get bitten by the family credit problems too.0
