Did you check the menus before buying the certs to see the price of the entrees?
I had a $50 cert for Stripsteak and the meal still cost over $200 for 2 people.0 -

There is around 25-30 of us going, planning on getting married then bokking a restaurant at the MGM for a bit of private dining, were have four children with us, anyone know a bar where we can go and take the children with us or are they not allowed near any bars/pubs.
Also im worried about everyone meeting up, whats the best form of communication and is there anywhere that you can buy cheap SIM cards, that are american and you can put in peoples uk phones.

Children are not allowed in bars/pubs in Vegas...same goes for many (most?) US cities...some bars allow 18+ in, but many not even that.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I think maybe penny is onto something...did you buy 10 $100 restaurant.com gift certificates at 80% off?
If so, you will have to use those vouchers to buy vouchers for the specific restaurants you are interested in...you cannot redeem the restaurant.com gift certificates directly at any of the restaurants.
I'm still not sure anyone could get through $1000 in r.com vouchers in a standard length trip...but maybe it's possible...will need to go to quite a few different restaurants though, and eat a lot of meals!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Calm down u two !
I like everyones opinions, just as i like everyones on Tripadvisor! Its how you make a lot of decisions these daysAs i said, i'll be on strip for the 5 nights of my 7 (Sun to Fri), but i'll be checking out as much as i can when am there and not just spending all night in 1 place!
As said, the idea of cheap on the Fri and Sat is cos
A: We fly with Virgin, arrive around 3pm... I reckon we will be conked out by 9 or 10pm! So wont see too much Fri night anyway...
B: Saturday, as hot as it is (have been to hotter mind!), we'll be sunbathing most of the day as need a tan ready for my wedding on the TuesdaySo Sat night we'll be checking out the off strip places, etc...
Then on Sunday, we'll check into a nice strip hotel and take it from there
Seriously though, i value everyones opinions, and yeah, theres more to vegas than the strip which i guess, including the one place i wanna goto: MEMPHIS CHAMPIONSHIP BBQ!!!! Now that looks like a restaurant i could live in !!
My two pence - Ive stayed Mardi gras, MGM Sig and Flamingo - I was really happy with Mardi Gras, its like a 3 star hotel in spain - our rooms where massive (loads of people who came for the wedding when we got married stayed there), we have 2 double beds, and a kitchen area, with fridge which was great.
We specifically picked it as it was small and really easy for everyone to met up etc - i think at least 14 or so of our guests stayed here. Theres a free shuttle to the strip every hour till 11pm too.
The pool wasnt busy, so everyone hung out together.
I wouldnt recommend it for 1st timers, but in your situation, for a few nights I would. While i like "nice" hotels, we where just boozing and barely in the place tbhgazzathered wrote: »Hi,

No bars for after dining for the kids that I can think of - cant you make the reception in MGM a later affair? We had a 4 hour reception in Maggianos with an all inclusive bar, was brilliant and allowed kids0 -

Our very first trip to Vegas we were allocated the Mardi Gras, we stayed there a couple of nights then I treated Tracy to a couple of midweek nights in a "Luxory" hotel (The Luxor:D) as we had already paid for the week we left our stuff in the MG and took small weekend bags (I know the words "small weekend bag" and Tracy are a combination you will never hear again) with us.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
