Is there construction going on at Tropicana? Are they eventually getting round to upgrading that hotel??

we stopped into the casino and it's been updated...it's better than before, but I really don't like it...it looks like a cheap upgrade to me...and they haven't done the corridors to the loos which look horrid (nasty carpet, mirrored walls with glass panes that are broken and cardboard taped over them)...it just looked awful and skanky in those areas. We haven't been to Tropicana in awhile and were looking forward to seeing it...can't say anything about the rooms but the casino area, while better than before, isn't appealing to us at all and it's likely we'll go back to skipping it.

Ferf, glad it worked out ok. I would have been sooo stressed

I was nearly in tears...oddly, once it became clear that my usually totally relaxed husband was also stessed I got better...probably because it wasn't just me being crazy, but was actually a potential issue, but ultimately something we could do nothing about. There was a later flight out of Chicago we might have been able to get on, but I had visions of getting stuck somewhere overnight and I was really in getting home mode.

    Hi All,

We got back last thursday and are still trying to recover and get over not still being there!!! This was our 2nd visit and seemed to do even more this time including getting married!! Which was really enjoyable and not at all stressfull like it would have been back home. We tied the knot at Chapel of the Flowers which was really nice and everything went smoothly so would recommend to anyone thinking.

many thanks for the trip report , really enjoyed reading it and congrats :beer::beer: on your wedding . :T

also welcome back everyone else :)

I see the English is rubbing off on you ;)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

this made my husband laugh...I don't know that it's an English thing or not - now trying to remember if I ever used that term before moving here. :)

Can't believe your back already. It seems just the other day that you posted saying you had arrived.

Fallen out with Bally's? We really like the Encore too and would stay there more often or for longer if it wasn't so far north.

not really fallen out with Bally's but had a good deal for Caesars, and wanted to stay at Wynn or Encore at the end of the trip as we had Garth tickets for our last night and it seemed to make sense to stay there.

Next time I'm going to try to wrangle a stay at PH I think.

Previously we had not really had any issue with location of Encore, but this trip we had a few trips which meant leaving the room at Encore, going somewhere else on the strip, and coming back to Encore in a fairly short period of time...that walk did start to seem like it took ages even though we timed it and it was something like 9 minutes walk from our room at Encore to Grand Lux at Palazzo...in Vegas terms that is not long. :)

I can't say I noticed any construction but I did notice areas which were boarded over so there could have been work going on behind there and we wouldn't have noticed
