    Hi All

My connection time in JFK is now under 1 hour, Virgin Holidays have said this should be fine because my luggage will be checked all the way through from Las Vegas to Man, has anyone experienced similar connections times in JFK?

    Thanks

If this is your return journey no customs ,immigration or security but not much room for delays on the first leg.

For my nephew for Christmas. :) Thanks to photome and (sorry, I am blanking on who else mentioned the personalised M&Ms)...not cheap - in fact, rather ridiculously expensive - but he loves M&Ms, and this is just way too cute. :)

Also, video of our Caesars Augustus Tower Room.

We were actually kind of shocked at the price - we didn't think they would be cheap, but good heavens...we ended up getting talked into the large container since, relatively speaking, it was so much better value by weight than the smaller ones...but $29.99 for a pound of m & m's made me cringe more than a little bit. But still, Declan is a very uncommon name in the US - so they can never find him anything personalised in the shops...so this will be a nice surprise for him. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
  • Hi, where is Town Square on/near the strip and is it worth a visit?

  • Hi guys,

I'm after some advice really. I've been to Vegas twice before with a group of friends, 1st time via package deal, 2nd time via Expedia (which worked out a better deal than doing things separately).

I'd like your opinons on the best way to go about arranging the trip.

We would be travelling from Manchester around Sept 2012 (i know its miles away but i want to prepare it properly & i know the flights won't be out yet but i will use Sept 2011 for a guide price). Would you recommend sorting flights and hotels separately or try via Expedia as i have done previously, bearing in mind that there will be 10+ people going?

I have stayed at MGM and Bellagio previously but would imagine that these would be expensive, so bearing in mind it will be a Stag do can you guys suggest any from experience, that is cheapish & would cater us?? I was thinking IP for location and price but imagine it would be pretty grim??

Can you guys give me any guide prices so i could put it to my friends to see if it is viable or not?

I would appreciate any other advice you guys could give me.

PS i've been lurking on this forum for over 3 years and the info is amazing and much aprreciated.

    Cheers

If you like that part of the Strip-Flamingo is often decent on price and I'd take a look at Bill's too for nicer rooms.

It is on the same side as Mandalay Bay but past the airport ( about a mile) so it is a taxi, bus or car. It is a high end open shopping area ( like a town centre)

We transferred at JFK for Vegas in the summertime and we would not have made the connection if it was under 1 hour. Immigration hall was full when our plane disembarked and we must have been waiting 30-45 mins to get through. (For your arrival the hal may be empty...who knows!). At least once all the USA people had gone through they used all the stations to proces the non USA pax. You do still have to pick up your bags and drop them off again. It was then a decent old walk through security to the gate. Don't forget that if you buy liquids in Manchester and have them in your hand luggage they will be swiftly removed at JFK security! (unless small size ..clear plastic... etc etc)

So if I was you I'd be looking at changing the connection flight and allowing a decent time. If the connection is in the middle of the day I wouldn't worry too much as you are liable to get put on the next available flight, but if the connection was the last flight of the day to Vegas........

WE stayed at the Imperial Palace this year and was so suprised after the reports I had read. After some of the bigger, better, newer, dearer hotels it may not be as grand but we had no problems and the room was comfotable and clean. It may not have street cred but we would not hesitate to stay again. So central as well. The liftes are a bit tired and could do with a refubish but they work
