I would also not have been pleased if an upgrade (subject to availability) did not become available until a tip was produced...whether I would have escalated it or not I'm not sure as after that long of a flight I just want to get showered and changed.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

At which point I would have taken my $20 back and asked to speak to a manager, outrageous. I can categorically guarantee you that I would have gotten even a better suite out of them.

Good luck in taking the aggressive line with them!

    • Instant upgrade to a Bungalow Suite or Celebrity Spa Suite,
(based on availability) or a $25 beverage credit at Rouge

Maybe paying the $20 was the right move after all. With such a great offer in place for such a long time are you not all wondering why so few people have gone for it or mentioned it before?

...I suppose if you had the nerve to try and trick them into finding something with a $20 you could have a go at the manager, but with the $25 get out clause its far far too risky to try.

Hi I have been planning my first trip and this forum has taught me so much! Please can you help with a couple of questions - we are going end of October and back on November 1st and can't get a handle on what weather to expect - am I packing for the heat?
See weather chart on page 1
We are going for my 40th and staying in the bellagio for 5 nights - should I mention my birthday to try and get an upgrade and should I try with $20 or more?
Yes and Yes .$20 should do fine, put it on thick about your birthday and first time in vegas ect . Be polite and English
Oh yes final thing - will there be Halloween celebrations there?
For sure . Halloween is huge in the USA. Pumpkin pie is my Fav if you see it on a specials board
    Thank you

ymgirl we were there last year for Halloween and just about everyone got dressed up on the night, it was a sight to see.

Many places had Halloween celebrations, parties, themed stuff going on. They even had pumpkin coffee at the coffee shop and pumpkin pancakes at IHOP and they were delicious too.

Weather wise it was warm enough to wear light trousers and t shirts except for one or two days where it got a little cooler, we took a fleece jacket for evenings, put it this way we came back with a light tan each.

    Enjoy.

the clause is worded such that an upgrade, if available, will be the primary reward...in this case, it appears that an upgrade was available but not offered...that's not really in the spirit of the offer.

I've read about Prima before...it doesn't interest me for a number of reasons, not the least of which being I don't want to have to commit to spend $500 at MGM in order to reap what (for us) would be relatively limited benefits...most of the benefits are of little interest to us...it would only really appeal to a very limited audience, I think.

I never said I would be aggressive. At the point when I asked for the manager you can bet that the clerk would have been bricking it, at which point I would have turned the screws.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

The offer is simply not designed for extended stays. One of the regulars here had issues with Prima and upgrades at MGM sometime during the summer just gone. IIRC they could pay for the upgrade but if they took out Prima they would have been given the pitiful cash credit.

hey all, i have a couple of hundred $$ worth of R.com gift certs. A gift from me to me. I wish to use a $50 one to purchase some certs, how do i go about doing this? After adding certs to my cart is only accepts paypal or a CC for payment?

Do I have to email the gift cert to myself and then use it?

    TIA
