We stayed at MGM in May and did the Prima originally we were told that they had no upgrades available I showed $20 and suddenly a Hollywood suite was available for our 2 week stay, I said it was our honeymoon and we would really like a celebrity spa suite and we got it, after being told there was nothing available, we were at check in for about 45 mins but well worth the time and $20. Got to say from other reviews I was surprised we got an upgrade at all.

    What is Prima.

I am amazed you got a Spa suite upgrade for 2 weeks for a $20 tip if you only had a standard room booked initially. I wouldnt think it would work anywhere let alone the MGM

    Well done

I finally managed to get my husband to sort out a box of crap that he brought with him to our house 3 years ago and we found a copy of Vegas Make It Big - a Vegas sim game from about 7 years ago (way before we met). He's reinstalled it and so far bought a big lot on the strip and put a tiny motel on it - it's very cute and will get me through the 196 days until my next trip!

    I knew I married him for a reason :)

ha ha typical stripburger is available and there's no 80% codes
Before you all shoot me down on this question has anyone booked a room for 2 in vegas but has more in...we are hopefully staying at the bellagio for xmas..do you have to pay for children too...we only booked a 2 queen bed room but have been reading that we pay for them too..i think if that's the case we will have to cancel and change hotels as i priced it adding the kids and it doubles in price..any suggestions of where to stay in the middle of the strip if we have to change...I was just going to turn up at xmas at the bellagio but i could get stung with a huge bill if i pay extra for the kids when we get there....Shall i just email them and see what they say?

Essentially, you load a 'gift card' (closest comparison) with $500, you then have to spend it all within MGM Grand (you may be able to use it at other MGM properties but dont think so!)

The money cannot go towards your room rental

You get all sorts of 'perks' with it :) - will try and find the website :)

I have never payed for my son. We always book a 2 bed room admittedly we usually book at a hotel where kids under 12 are free and then we dont tell them his age (he is 15 now), they never ask at check in how old he is. I always check in alone.

This year we atyed at Wynn where they wanted an extra $50 a night for him, so I paid for a room for 2 and then requested via facebook a 2 queen room, they didnt gtee it but I did get one, no questions were asked.

If I hadnt got a 2 queen room I would have asked housekeeping for bedding for the sofa bed (if there was one) or a roll away

Maybe that is why they got the room upgrade, I know i have never been successful at MGM (the only place I havent been)

    Just read your next post

LOL that is quite funny. Sorry I am not laughing at the OP but it does seem that the $20 tip was paid for nothing although of course there is the get out clause of subject to availability. I thought a $20 tip for a 2 week upgrade to a suite was to good to be true

What about when you use the pool etc...Do the kids need room keys too? Security at the lift etc...
