Just a comment on tea; we did the Wynn breakfast buffet, and I was craving tea at this point (can only drink so much Starbucks in one holiday). Having got used to the American fascination for Iced Tea, I asked the waitress for hot tea one morning. Out came a keep-warm pot of boiling water, and a box of teabags: with just decaff and normal black tea. The cold (!) milk followed shortly (I was pleasantly surprised that she gave me cold milk) - best tea I've had in Vegas without a doubt. We left a hearty tip for her.

is this well organized or just a bit sad? After reading about some non-shoppers getting some good bargains at the outlets, I've printed out the directory list and map of the 2 outlets in Vegas...gone through the directory and underlined the stores I'm interested in, then found them and marked them on the map of their respective centres.

I have never been to the one closer to downtown and am already annoyed that the 17 shops that interest me are spread pretty much evenly across the entire centre. :) Does anyone recall if the parking for this one is only in the parking garages shown on the map, or if there's parking around the centre in lots as well?

I took the Gold Line there, but I only recollect seeing one Parking Garage at the Premium Outlets near downtown. Although it was hot, we got there relatively early (around 10am when it opened I think) and did the shops we wanted in just over 2hrs, ducking in and out of shops to cool down. IIRC the Levis outlet at the South outlet is bigger than the one at the Premium Outlet (if you were going for Levis).

The shops are all in a pedestrianised section of walkways with benches and stalls down the middle. Was it the Premium that you meant?

Ferf, don't know about parking as we get the Gold Line there.

However remember to print off the first coupon on the VIP list. Take it to the Information Center and you get a discount book which normally costs $5. You can also pick up a map.

As you know, I'm a non-shopper, but I can last 2-3 hours there. We also get there at 10am when the shops open and before it gets too hot and busy.

thanks Luci - I'd printed all the coupons for stores I was interested in and the VIP coupon book one after your suggestion. It's like a mini-military operation in here, but if you can manage to cope with the place I'm hoping I can too. :)

Actually, taking the Gold Line - what sort of journey time is involved? I'm torn...part of me thinks if I drive I have easy transport for any goodies I may come back with, but I may go on a Saturday and suspect that it may be a bit chaotic parking..

This trip I think it was 35 mins going there, that was from MGM, and 25-30 mins back to the Fashion Show Mall.

Last trip it was 30 mins going and 35 mins coming back.

Thanks! My hubby has actually suggested that if we take the gold line that he could come with me (! - this is a big thing) and if/when he gets bored, he will head back to the room with any bags I may have accumulated. I've read some of the reviews on yelp and won't drive on the weekend now as I have zero tolerance for parking-related chaos.

Thanks, we aren't big gamblers so the no-casino bit doesn't bother us in the slightest, neither does the location, i think thats what drew me to it.

When is the best time to book flights? and what sort of price is good for may?

there is no magic answer or pearl of wisdom as to when too book a flight and get it cheapest . book this week and a airline sale might start next , or wait and the plane fills up and the price doubles .

Under £500 and you are par for the course . £450 or less book it there and then ( you won't make savings worth the risk of waiting) .

lots of searching and homework required . try all the American carriers direct .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

I keep reading £450 or £500 for flights, but bear in mind that there was a massive increase in tax which put about £100 onto long haul.

hi all i notice American Airlines have some good reviews on here- has anyone flown Delta Airlines/KLM and what are they like? x

Posted a couple of pages back re Delta business to Detroit. Cattle is OK - better than the VS Alitalia seats. Has VOD which helps wile the hours away. Served chicken and mash for breakfast and a slice of pizza for lunch!!! Had someone selfish in front who insisted on pushing the seat back - a few well timed shoves when it looked like he had nodded off put him right :)
