AprilAgreed - and also better, in my opinion...they're more efficient, friendlier, etc...moreso than on Virgin at least...last time we flew American we had a great steward - he was really cool, really funny, and to watch him clear the trays after the meal was a site to behold - he had it down to an absolute science. The more we fly American the more I wonder why we stuck with Virgin for so long...just a better experience all around we think.
Definetly agree with that, we flew from LHR-JFK last march with American Airlines, they were fab! They are polite, courteous and nothing is too much trouble for them.
Would def fly with them again.0 -
AprilHi All
I've found a great deal (or so i think) for 7 nights in the Trump International (Vegas) for £463.53 for 2 of us.
Is there a reason Trump especially appeals to you?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
AprilNot particularly, i guess as it's a 5 star i thought it was a good price, i haven't looked at any others yet
It's a bit different as it doesn't have a casino, but most (all?) rooms have a kitchenette...more like a condo/serviced apartment. For some this might suit...for others (like us) the lack of a casino is a downer. It's also set back from the strip a bit - not dramatically...I've never walked it myself and have read some conflicting views on the distance from the strip in terms of walking time...5-10 mins seems the range. It may be something that appeals to you...without a casino and the vibe that brings it wouldn't seem very Vegassy to me, but some people prefer a hotel slightly off strip and without a casino as it's more of a calm atmosphere...so really depends on what someone is lookign for.
Oh, and it may be worth considering Priceline...Trump is one that comes up quite often in the 5* category for name your own price I think.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
SeptemberAnyone seen Zumanity or La Femme? Me and the missus would like to see a adult show and these names comes up a few times.:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0

AprilZumanity always sounds like a love it or hate it show...reviews seem to follow the mostly 1 star or 5 star pattern which we saw with Danny Gans (we were in the 1 star category but felt really bad having posted a terrible review a few days before he passed away!).

Thanks, we aren't big gamblers so the no-casino bit doesn't bother us in the slightest, neither does the location, i think thats what drew me to it.
When is the best time to book flights? and what sort of price is good for may?0 -
AugustHi guys looking for some help off people who been before, we going in 8 days
What are your Top 3 things to do in Vegas? (food, shows, attractions etc), with a hugh amount of things to do just making a list of things we cannot miss out on.
Thanks
My top 3 are;
Food - Grand Lux at Venetian. Check out the menu online. Great atmosphere, huge portions, good value for $. Favourite buffet was the Wynn.
Shows - We chose the cheaper option of The King Lives at Hooters and had a great night. An amazing singer and if you like Elvis songs you would love this really entertaining show. Plus cheap drinks at
Hooters - $1.50 buds etc.
Attractions - The fountains at Bellagio without a doubt. We also loved the Eiffel Tower experience, great views and look out for the 2for1 voucher in the local guides. Really enjoyed the Titanic Exhibit for a daytime attraction but only if you are interested in this.
Have a great time - very jealous, have been back 2 weeks but desperate to go back again asap!Lucky wins - Rituals Beauty Advent Calendar; Starbucks Coffee & £20 Gift Card; Amazing Hen Weekend at Dunblane Hydro; Heat Magazine Book Bundle; Le Crueset Goodies :j

I have been lucky enough to wangle a week childfree for my 30th birthday next October(2011) and I have been wanting to go to Vegas for years!!
Hubby more than happy to tag along and kids happy at amount of presents we shall bring back
When is the best time to book?
What is the best hotel for a Vegas virgin?(it is mine and the Mr's first holiday together EVER so would like it to be special and would like to be on strip).
Can anyone give me a guide on money? How much to take? We would like to eat out a lot, shop a little, have the odd flutter and maybe a show or 2.
Thanks in advance
When is the best time to book? Start checking flight prices as soon as they are available and look out for offers such as BA sales etc. I think you just need to book flights when you are happy with the price then dont check them again (or you will be gutted if you see them cheaper). Keep checking this forum for hotel deals nearer the time.
What is the best hotel for a Vegas virgin? I stayed in the Planet Hollywood hotel on my first trip and loved it, very central, lively hotel if you want to be in the action. But it depends what you are looking for. The new Cosmopolitan Hotel is opening in December 2010 across from Planet Hollywood. It looks very nice and is central strip.
Can anyone give me a guide on money? As others have said it varies from person to person. As a rough guide my fiance and I spent about £1,000 on our recent 10 night trip, with the exchange rate we got this worked out about $150 a day. We had all our meals out, good few drinks / cocktails a day, juice and snacks for the room, transport around Vegas, a show or attraction each day & my fiances trip to Hoover Dam. We used a couple of vouchers (2for1 etc) we found in guides when we were there, and 1 restuarant.com voucher, but apart from that we didnt have to watch our money and felt we did everything we wanted. On top of that we also had a seperate budget for shopping and the odd $ in the slot machines. Everyone is different though!Lucky wins - Rituals Beauty Advent Calendar; Starbucks Coffee & £20 Gift Card; Amazing Hen Weekend at Dunblane Hydro; Heat Magazine Book Bundle; Le Crueset Goodies :j
