Dont get me started on tea..........as I said I was in Detroit last week staying at a fairly upscale hotel. Breakfast......OJ, toast and tea please. Waitress came over with one of those shiny wooden boxes with selection of teas in it. Peppermint tea, camomile tea, green tea......whole load of barmy stuff. No English breakfast in sight. Not even Lipton. Will take my PG with me next time.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

I have been lucky enough to wangle a week childfree for my 30th birthday next October(2011) and I have been wanting to go to Vegas for years!!
Hubby more than happy to tag along and kids happy at amount of presents we shall bring back
When is the best time to book?
What is the best hotel for a Vegas virgin?(it is mine and the Mr's first holiday together EVER so would like it to be special and would like to be on strip).
Can anyone give me a guide on money? How much to take? We would like to eat out a lot, shop a little, have the odd flutter and maybe a show or 2.
Thanks in advance
Oh and a budget of £1500 ideally(not including spends, obviously!):rotfl: Big Momma to 5 kids:rotfl:
Always looking at ways to save money or earn it!!!
Now could always sell a few kids;)0 -

First thing to do is read the first page of this thread.
As for all your questions you will get different answers from everyone.
How much do you want to spend on a hotel?
Do you want to do a package or like most on here hotel and flight seperately
How much cash do you want to take ?
What is your overall budget ?0 -

Flights are released 11 months in advance so check in Nov. If flight prices are around £500 then what you have left (£500) is enough for a very good hotel for a week.
Could get one of the upper end hotels with that budget with a bit of luck, but it does all depend on the flight price
If you are going to go down the booking seperately route, the best hotel deals are usually about 3 months before so you have a long time to wait yet0 -
SeptemberWill take my PG with me next time.
We take our own tea bags and instant coffee wherever we go...Have one of those mini elements you pop into a mug of water and it heats it up....best thing I've ever bought....ours is 20 years old and works like a dream no matter what country we are in:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -
MarchIt is no wonder that American Cabin Crew refer to Brits as "tea pots".0

Anyone seen Zumanity or La Femme? Me and the missus would like to see a adult show and these names comes up a few times.0

MayYou will get a load of different answers so be prepared for more than 3 of each.
Shows - Jersey Boys, Love, Human Nature. Cheaper show - Legends in Concert although I haven't seen it for a couple of years to know if it's still as good
Food - what is your budget per head exc drinks? Mon Ami Gabi at Paris is good. The Bellagio and Wynn buffets.
Attractions - the Bellagio fountains0 -
MayWe also take our own teabags everywhere and I have a couple in my handbag in case I get that crappy Lipton's stuff.
Tea at buffets and restaurants is never hot enough so I've stopped asking for it. However the best cups of tea I've had in Vegas have been from the cocktail waitresses and that's in several different casinos.0
