Having just used the Gold line,I would agree,It is alot better. But only through the day,at night the service was poor.We waited about 40 mins one night for the freemont street bus,and it must have been close to an hour one evening after we had been to the strat. In the evening the buses were stood still on the strip for ages. The transport system seems to be getting worse to me.By the way the deuce bus only runs as far as the Mandalay Bay now.You need the Gold Line for town square and outlet shopping.
On another note, if anyone is thinking of going to Jersey Boys if you can afford it pay the offer price of $101 for the best tickets. We bought the mezzanine tickets for $70 odd,and when the show started i felt I was to high up.If it hadn't been for the sheer brilliance of the show, making me forget about my seating choice,i would not have been to pleased. If we do go back for another trip,we would definitely pay for seats on the lower level.Bye the way, thanks for the suggestions on the Calvin Klein top,i don't use e-bay,so that's out.i did manage to e-mail them last night, but have not had a reply,to be honest I don't really what they could do anyway.
  • Just got back from Vegas had a great time!

Just a word of warning about the MGM Grande - very overrated in my opinion. Really needs a renovation - no flat screen (in fact had ancient CRT telly!) and no kettle or fridge in the room!!!

This is not a patch on other places I have stayed - IMO you can do a lot better for the money.
i like mgm, best pool complex in vegas, rooms decent (who spends time watching tv in vegas??), nice location for south side strip, and i found very friendly
when i went got room for 40£ a night including 3 free buffets a day per person and free drink vouchers-- not quite sure how you can do better for that money? they were essentially paying me to stay there

    Agreed!

I'm also quite happy with the MGM knowing its a really cheap option and a "decent" place to stay. "Overrated" makes it sound like you were under the impression that the MGM is a high end luxury hotel. If the OP wants to see what the MGM has to offer at the luxury end, book into MGM Skylofts next time or if you come up on the lottery (double rollover ....obviously), try out the MGM Mansion!

There is only one internet cafe on the strip that I can think of, at the Hawaiian Marketplace, but it's expensive at $12 for an hour and around $5 for 15 mins.
There is also Betty's Diner in the IP...you can print out tickets there

I bought my Jersey Boys Tickets here https://www.bestofvegas.com/ and paid $101.90 for upgraded front orchestra seats....my daughter has seen the show twice in London and reckons anything other than front row seats wouldn't be as good for this particular show

got our dollars from Crown Currency today - delivery due for Monday but as mentioned here (and on the phone when I placed the order) they can come early and arrive on the previous Saturday. Very pleased...we had 2 orders from cancelled contracts offers and overall rate we got between the two worked out to 1.591575..not that exceptional given where the dollar is currently trading, but a whole lot better that it could have been.

We keep checking seating on our flights and on the way out the flight is only about 1/2 full and almost the entire business class cabin is empty...we aren't getting our hopes up for another upgrade, but would be exceptionally happy if it happend. :)

Groupon deal is interesting (was actually yesterday's deal but looks like it was extended - 1 day, 20 hours left from now).

$25 for a $50 certificate for Boa Steakhouse at Forum Shops. It's good for lunch or dinner and appears that drinks are allowed to make up the total.

    Menu - http://www.boasteak.com/balboa/menu/lv.htm

Since the voucher is good for lunch, that seems the better deal to us and what we're probably go for I think...our theory is we'll pay $25 for it now, have $50 to spend for lunch one day...so kind of a free lunch (in terms of actual cash outlay during the holiday itself...which if you're having a bad day gambling wise always seems like a bit of a win). :)

Well, I've never logged into a flight booking and not already had seats allocated (well, once, but that was after we HAD had seats allocated and they vanished...but that's a whole different story)...even where we didn't make a specific selection at the time of booking.
