OMG if the airport strikes go ahead then we cant go as they say its bank holiday weekend and thats when we leave!!!!!!!!!!! no holiday and no wedding!!!!!!!!!!! i will cry if this goes ahead!!
I assume you are flying from a BAA airport? Virgin from Gatwick shouldnt be to badly affected (famous last words) we are due to fly Aug 23rd.
I see they wont announce strike dates until monday at earliest and then would have to give a weeks notice.
The BH weekend is only speculation, even when they are announced, if they affect you then you may be able to switch dates by a day or 20 -

yeah we're a baa airport (heathrow) we are supposed to leave on the 27th which is the friday of the bank holiday weekend so maybe we'll miss it???!?!?! you can only hope!
i agree they should be grateful they have jobs, i know lots of people made redundant in this climate that would love to find work like that and be able to support their families! i appreciate they may have their gripes with the pay etc but i do think the unions will bring the airlines and british airports to its knees before they are happy - they are like a dog with a bone - any excuse to strike - less than 50% of the union members turned up for it anyway!!!
grrrrrr!! sorry rant over but they better not spoil my holidays otherwise i'll be out looking for them lol!!
lets all cross our fingers

AugustWe fly out on the 18th to Vegas but are due to arrive back in the UK on the 27th. Fingers crossed we miss the strikes, but hey I got through being stranded in Amsterdam from Tokyo due to the ash cloud so I'm sure I'll be fine

thanks for all the advice on the cirque tickets - i phoned the concierge desk (wow the lady sounded scarily like a robot but to be fair was really helpful) and because i had a specific day and time in mind there were only a few tickets left so i chose section 202 row dd, seats in the middle of row? i used a seating plan and they seemed ok - do you think these are too far back to see properly?

I actually reckon those will be some of the better seats in the house - with Cirque, at least all those I have been to, it's almost better to be too far back than too close. The middle of 202 row DD is smack bang in the middle...I'd be quite pleased if it were me.Especially with Ka as the theatre itself is almost part of the show - we were waaaay too close and it really detracted from the experience.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

January , FebruaryI'm keeping my fingers crossed - fly out from Gatwick on the 25th, but return to Heathrow on the 2nd Sept. Could be interesting!
We lost our Vegas trip in February when the Delta flight was cancelled due to snow in Atlanta - so I hope this one goes ahead! The force is strong in this one!0
