    Thanks Luci,
First time to Vegas for a birthday with 0 on the end, 4 couples going, we're on direct flights with Virgin, does that make any difference to check in at airport? Also wondering about this Esta thing, applied on-line, is it posted to you? Do you also need a visa? Sorry about all the questions but total novice to this and trying to cram as much info in as possible! Do you need a credit card when you check-in at hotel? TIA :o

You'll land in T2 if you're on the Virgin flight...IMHO not worth going over to T1 to use the airport check-in for MGM...there is a shuttle bus but it just seems to me like you'd spend more time getting over to T1 than you might save using the airport check in.

ESTA is held electronically - you will not receive anything in the post. If you made a note of your application number you could go into the application and save a screenshot or pdf of the page, but you do not need to show anything. You shouldn't need a visa if your ESTA application was approved (assuming the questions were answered truthfully, of course! :))

Normally a credit card is required a check-in and the hotel will put a hold on the card of the total for the stay plus an amount for incidentals (room service, charges at restaurants, in-room movies, etc). Sometimes you can leave a cash deposit instead of the per-day incidentals charge if you waive the option to make charges to the room. Not sure if MGM allows this or not.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

You arrive at wrong terminal to do airport check in. ESTA is electronic so no paperwork. No visa. Ideally you need a credit card at check in.

$20 has not worked for me at MGM (3times), its the only hotel in Vegas where it hasnt worked and the MGM is the only hotel that has never had the room type available that I have requested

70% restaurant.com code good to Monday is SAVE...plus you get a free $10 gift certificate with every order...I'm not sure if the $10 gift certificate will entitle you to buy a certificate that would normally cost $10 before any discounts, I think that's likely the case but not sure...so there's a chance that you couldn't use the $10 gift certificate to buy 5 $2 vouchers with an 80% off code.

Unfortunately the former: a $10 certificate that would normally cost $10 before discounts - so value of free gift diminished (depending on available discount) but OK if you're after a $10 certificate!

Every casino offers some kind of incentive for joining , bear in mind that Harrahs Total rewards covers quite a few casinos (inc Caesers I think). Join the club in every casino you play in

They look pretty delish, but I'm always easily swayed by pictures of cake!

hopefully you made a note of your ESTA application and printed it off .

not sure if you strictly need it , but better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it
