October , NovemberOoh, quick question about Crown Currency now someone's mentioned it...I got the most recent cancelled contracts email this morning and realised the delivery dates are now too late for us. I've never taken much notice before as my last couple of times using them the exchange rate was good enough for me not to be watching it so closely, but does this mean we now won't be able to get a cancelled contract deal, or is there a chance they might do one with earlier delivery dates? If not I'm considering just taking the plunge and buying the rest of our money now as CC's normal rate for earlier in September is now up to a kind of acceptable 1.55...would rather get that and be happy-ish than watch it plummet back to the 1.40's again and have to buy at that price!I had a look back at the cancelled contracts emails and on June 24th they had cancelled contracts for delivery between 15th September and 22nd September...then on the 29th they had them for 24th August 2010 to 31st August 2010...so at least once they had earlier dates than the last email they had sent...though it does generally seem that the next one is for delivery after the last one.
Just wanted to add on this in case anyone else wants to know, we did manage to get one of CC's special offers in the end despite thinking we'd left it too long as all the offer dates coming up were too late for us. As per an email earlier this week, we've managed to get a rate of 1.6122 for delivery on 10 September - just under a week before we leave so it's pretty lucky timing! It was worth holding on for a couple more weeks and meant we got a couple of cents to the £ more than just buying at their normal rate which was about 1.59 on the day we booked - not a lot but every little helps right?! It's definately better than the 1.55 I was thinking of buying atQuite gutted that they're now offering 1.65 ish for October but there's not much we can do about that!

SeptemberAnyone who is thinking of travelling to the Vegas in the next 2 years should apply for their ESTA before 8 September as that is when an application fee of $14 is being introduced.

The ESTA is valid for 2 years or until your passport expires, whichever is the earlier.
Can you apply if you already have a valid ESTA....mine wont expire until March 2011:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -

April70% restaurant.com code good to Monday is SAVE...plus you get a free $10 gift certificate with every order...I'm not sure if the $10 gift certificate will entitle you to buy a certificate that would normally cost $10 before any discounts, I think that's likely the case but not sure...so there's a chance that you couldn't use the $10 gift certificate to buy 5 $2 vouchers with an 80% off code.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

Mind I did it again yesterday because I hadn't written down when it was due up and the result came back as "pending".I will check the site for the result in a day or so.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
SeptemberYes, you will have to go through immigration, collect your luggage, clear customs and take your luggage to the re-check area which is on the way to the exit. It's quite well organized and not quite as scary as it sounds.
Who are you flying with? It's possible your connecting flight will be in the same terminal which makes it a lot easier.
Sorry forgot that part.We are flying with AA0 -

You'll arrive T5 and depart T3 I think...there's a train that serves all terminals - it's not a long journey...and I think that T3 will be the first stop from T5 but it's been awhile since we've done it. We'll be making the same journey mid-October.

If you can, choose seats closer to the front of the plane, will help ensure you get out quicker. To be honest, whenever we have arrived at ORD the queue's for Americans have been longer than non-Americans...and they do a good job of distributing people between the queues (if the Americans all get through, they start funnelling non-Americans through the American lines).Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
And yes, I am still kicking myself for buying at 1.57, though we fly on the 14th, so the slightly higher rate wouldn't have worked for us.
Its like gambling isn't it?! I'm going 2 weeks tomorrow and need to sort my currecncy. Been following the TravelMoneyMax all week. I know I won't get a cancelled contracts deal now, but Crown were about $1.58 last weekend, it slipped for most of last week but is back up to $1.5879 now. Think I should buy, its a good rate but I'm paranoid it'll break 1.6 in the week! What has MSE done to me?!0 -
