Booked Vegas for the end of August for 6 nights. Flights (1 stop - with Delta from Manchester) and hotel (Grand Tower Room MGM Grand) cost £583 pp. Is this a reasonable deal? I also made sure the deal is fully refundable incase a better one comes a long so we can cancel and rebook hassle free

Also with the above deal at the MGM we get 2-for-1 (once per day) free buffet, $25 spa credit (meh...) and 2 comped gym passes. I've already sent five emails off to the MGM and get jack back, so I was wondering if somebody here could tell me how we go about getting the 2-for-1 buffet offer. Do we get vouchers when we get there? Or do we charge the buffets to our room and they take the second buffet off the bill when we leave?

Edit: Also a second question sorry, seeing as you guys are a lot more realiable than MGM's Email Service. I've put a deposit down for the rooms, but do they take full payment for the rooms when we check-in or a few days before?

Cheers guys, first time in Vegas for my 21st Birthday, can't wait!

The "deposit" will be the first nights room fee, the balance is payable when you check out. That applies to all hotel direct bookings in the US.

The buffet will probably be in voucher form, but could be chargeable to your room, either way they will tell you on check in

Who did you book this with? sounds like a fantastic deal!!!

Flights with TravelPack.com go from Manchester to Atlanta to Vegas for £450 with Delta (however at the minute you can get flights from US Airways through Manchester from around £435).

While the Hotel deal came from this very thread, thanks to Luci here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=28620925&postcount=260 - We have booked two rooms. Two lads in one and three in other and when split the price up it equates to £132/£133 each or around £22.50 pppn.

Cheers for the answer photome, I always imagined they would take payment when you checked-in, but now I know different. Cheers!

Yes MGM will take the full amount when you check out. They will ask for a credit card when you check in.

In my experience you can't check out using the TV, etc if you have extras to be taken off. We have always had to charge the buffet, drinks, etc to the room then go to the desk at check out where they are taken off.

Glad the offer I posted was good for you.

I'm sure I saw an MGM offer recently with free all day buffet pass which might be better for you than the 2 for 1, but I have seen and posted so may offers recently that I can't remember where it is.

I posted that, I booked it for Jan 25th to Jan 29th at $51 a night including all Day buffet Passes for 2 people for all 4 days.

It has now dissapeared off the website, I called Reservations last night and they said the price advertised was an error and they had withdrawn it, although would still honour those that were already booked,

anyone had anything like this with MGM Grand before, are they OK at honouring these "Mistake" deals, dont want to charge a bunch of Buffets to the room to find a battle at checkout to get them removed, (Both the Printout and online reservetion clearly state ALL DAY BUFFET OFFER).

I think this was the link for the all-day buffet offer at MGM, but it's not working anymore.

    https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?pid=001&host=promo&code=MKT351&kbid=1162904&sub=1735135!W!MKT351

Jordan - If the offer you booked is this one:

    https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?pid=001&host=promo&code=MKT351&kbid=1162904&sub=1735135!W!MKT351

The T&Cs do say you'll charge the the room.

Inclusions are per package, per stay and have no cash value. Guests will charge to the room and will be credited upon check-out.

One option may be to go down the day before you're due to check out and ask if they can make any adjustments to your account then so you can use check-out on the telly...I loooove checking out on the telly as it means no waiting in a queue.

They will charge the full amount when you check out - but will put a hold on your card for the amount of the room + an amount for incidentals when you check in - so those funds are technically set aside and can't be used during your trip.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

There was a case a few years ago where an offer which was only meant for certain players club members got out and booked by a lot of other people - they cancelled those...but if they have said they will honour it, I would think they would honour it...but maybe ask them to send you an email confirming this?

Though I suppose that if you hadn't checked the offer again, you wouldn't even know there was a problem...and you have the confirmations to back up what you booked, so should be fine...but I'm sure that you could confirm the buffet thing at check-in just to be sure. Whether you would opt to stay somewhere else if the buffet deal was not being honoured is another question.

Yes, Not sure what the problem with this offer was, can only assume its a rates issue as it was actually available from the Hotel Website front page as well as an offer code, I can only figure that at $51 a night with the Buffet Passes costing $35pp so a $70 Freebe on a $51 room probably does add up to an error, Especially as a similar offer at the Luxor at the moment runs in at way more a night!

Agreed - I remember when you posted that I had a look and it seemed to be a pretty remarkable deal at $51/night...even if you consider that most wouldn't take full advantage of the buffet offer. Probably it was all their error so they've opted to take the hit. The buffet freebies don't cost them anywhere near the potential value to the customer, so they won't lose that much I wouldn't think.

I know I think 3 Buffets a Day would kill the average human, We were going to stay with Friends this trip (We lived in Vegas for 7 years up till 2004), but decided the MGMG offer at $51 was too much of a steal,.. even if all we eat are the Breakfast and a Couple of Evening Meals. Do Like the Sushi and Salmon at the Evening Buffet at MGM tho, so may have to endulge!

(Will be out all day house hunting!) - Decided it is the time to take the plunge again if we can find something that fits the bill
