At the moment there are some excellent rates for MGM rooms and suites ...except for weekends it appears (looking at when we are going next)..... thats when you may want to look at somewhere like .................
Aria ;-)
Hey what is the Aria like now? Are most of the rooms still having trouble with all the techno whizz stuff and is the casino still !!!!?
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Had the roman baths, whirlpool, steam room and sauna to myself. Great stuff. We both had the midweek $99 massage which was excellent and such great value. The men and women's areas are separate but we didn't mind
hiya - thanks for the report, was a good read :)

just wondered if you can remember how much all that cost? or does it all get included if you have the $99 massage?

What do you mean by that? (in bold)

Sorry if it is just me but I dont understand what you mean

I have played a few cash games and the odd tourny with no success in Vegas.

I played a cash game in Bills and came up against a royal flush and the guy told me to fold, which i did, he picked up a decent bonus from the casino.

Might have to try Mirage sit n go this year as it has a couple of recomendations

Well from what both my Dad and other players have told me who have played in cash games, if you buy in the minimum, say $100 but the other players have bought in a lot more, then as they have so many more chips than you they can quite easily use that to their advantage, play aggressive and bully you. I did not play any cash games so maybe what I have heard is wrong, but where we were low rollers, I just didn't want to be competing with someone who buys say $500 - $600 worth of chips, compared to my measly $100 and get pushed over. I like tourney's as everyone starts off equal and they tend to be more about chip preservation anyway, which is how I prefer to play.

Hope that makes sense. Like I said, maybe what people have told me is incorrect but it was enough to put me off!

Haven't tried it out yet and reviews are on the way up except for comments on the surly staff, but at only $100 a night for a Friday and Saturday night with no resort fee we thought it would be worth a try.

For those thinking of the MGM andthink the $1 to be too much to ask for the upgrade to a suite, don't forget that the signup offer to their guestbook will currently give you the same prices as the Max vegas (but with added benefits) offer but it is often the best offer around. signup and see!

The $99 includes entrance into the Spa as well! I found it strange seeing women wandering around both before and after their treatments yet not using the spa. I think they were missing a trick there. I didn't complain though as it was nice to have the place to myself. From what OH said, there were more men using the spa facilities.

PS - I paid extra for the reflexology though.

PPS - We also tipped $20 each which is maybe high but we felt it was so worthwhile and good value it was no problem.

I understand what you are saying now thankyou. Your post said you would advise, I think you meant wouldnt advise ?

It makes sense what you say now but I only played cash games with low rollers, of course you never know who is sitting there or who else will turn up and yes there were some agressive players and i didnt do very well so maybe I should stick to tournys .

Yes when I reread my post I now realise I made a mistake so I've edited it now.

Do you play a lot of poker in England?

I have played a lot online and with mates once a month for a few years.

I notice you played all sorts of poker on the tables. I have only played 3 card and in the Orleans they have a hold em game which is fun.

Never played pai gow or any of the others you mentioned (dont know how to)
