January , FebruaryThink ba has a lot more hurdles to cross before the industrial action threat will be over
July august is always 600-700 for a flight if anyone finds one cheaper please shout
I booked Delta at the end of August (25th) £406 each. This was though a a couple of months ago.
Try Zugu.co.uk and play about with the days of the week - I found these made quite a difference - presumably most people fly at the end of the week. The force is strong in this one!0 -
Some cheap flights coming up on Kayak - US Airways, flying out end of August and coming back early Sept, from £445 (London) and £486 from Manchester.
EDIT: When I say 'cheap', I mean for that time of year. Same dates direct are coming in over £720.0 -

£466 with a 2-hour layover seems reasonable to me. I would also assume most people would accept a 4 hour layover if you are saving a few hundred quid (it is MSE after all).0 -
MarchFares always drop around 24 August -Up in the £700-£800 range still for earlier in the month. I'm not expecting them to drop so will be booking for early August soon.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

You need a good couple of hours on the way out to clear customs in time. Not so crucial coming back though. The force is strong in this one!0 -
October , NovemberRegarding the Excalibur - We are currently staying there and the rooms are just fine. The pool area is much nicer than I originally expected too. There are four pools and one is always adults only during the weekend. The worst thing about the place are the timeshare demons.
We have stayed in a regular room and a widescreen room and they are both OK. There is no bath, but that isn't a problem for us. We're just starting our third week here and because I booked before the resort fee increase, I am paying $5+ tax instead of $9.95+ tax on top of the extremely cheap rates.
It certainly isn't a WOW! when you come in the room, but we couldn't justify spending Encore or Signature prices when we stay for six weeks at a time. There is space in the room for the OH to have his gym ball inflated so that he can exercise on it each day. (The gym is free too, but they don't seem to have a gym ball)
We would stay here again.
Also, Congratulations to Mr and Mrs trets.0 -
Thanks photome and WestHamDaz.
Photome, are you someone who likes it scorching hot, or are you like us, have to go in school holidays. We went to Vegas in August 2006 and to be honest it's too hot for us.But needs must, and at least it's better being in Vegas in August than in Orlando....Never doing that again. Also been in Vegas In March,October and November and ideally would prefer any of those options.
WestHamdaz, Thanks for that, will print a copy off myself, quite happy to argue with them if neccessary......Being a West Ham fan for 40 odd years has made me an argumentative old sod.....So my wife says.:rotfl:
We have never been in aug:eek: It should be fun, hottest it has been when we have been is 110. My boy is looking forward to being able to get in the pool everyday. We normally go March/April, have been in November that was to cold.
Being in Vegas is better than being in Orlando ANY MONTH0 -

The exalibur deal in th nice room works out at £48 per night (that includes the resort tax), and thats the cheapest I've seen so far...
Perhaps I should just hold off and keep a look out (We're there 15-20 September).
If it was me I wouldnt book the better room, I would book the cheap room (nothing wrong with it) and hope for an upgrade at check in with the $20 trick

MarchI work on much the same basis-I don't spend enough time in my room to justify the extra so for example in August I have a deluxe room comped at the Flamingo but the upgrade to Go is $60 per night . Even though it's still a good deal the MSEer in me will wait til check in and hopefully upgrade for a third of the price.......If not I've still got a decent room. (Flamingo don't upgrade deluxe to Go rooms for the $20 trick)I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
