As long as I remember, I took the mission to check out the fee at the ATM in Casino Royale and can confirm that it is still only $1.

They are still doing $1 Michelobs and margaritas. I wouldn't say there was much alcohol in the strawberry margarita, but it was really tasty.

The barman seemed surprised and delighted when OH tipped him. He did see someone hand over a 2 for 1 coupon and just $1 so no tip.

We also saw a girl from London tip only $2 at the Cheesecake Factory for a full meal for two people.

    There goes that big horse!

The recently closed FAO Schwartz store at The Forum Shops at Caesars will soon be home to the largest H&M store in the country.

The Forum Shops announced that H&M will open in the three-story, 55,000-square-foot venue this fall. Las Vegas already is home to two of the Swedish retailer’s stateside outposts -- one at the Miracle Mile Shops and one at Town Square.

The FAO Schwarz location closed Jan. 23 after the store, with its iconic wooden Trojan horse, let its lease at the Forum Shops expire at the end of January. The Strip location opened in 1997.

Mall officials said in February they were hopeful they can lease the space to a national retailer that wants to establish a flagship store or its largest store nationwide in one of the country’s premier shopping destinations.

Described by owner Simon Property Group of Indianapolis as “part Beverly Hills, part Rome’s Via Condotti and part Madison Avenue,” the Forum Shops has about 160 stores and has boasted it is visited typically by 50,000 people a day.

Forum Shops has long been long known as the nation’s highest-grossing mall with annual sales last reported at $1,400 per square foot.

FAO Schwarz has no plans to open elsewhere in Las Vegas, and remains focused on the FAO Schwarz brand with its flagship New York City store and its Web site.

Okay, i have found a quote for my holiday.

Flying from London Gatwick to Vegas (Non-stop)
10 nights in the Circus Circus
    Mar 7th- Mar 17th 2011.
    £761 pp

    Is this a good deal?

    With Virgin by the way.

Havent booked it as we aren't sure if A: its a good deal or B: if we want to go in March yet.

It is going to be our first time there, we arent too fussed about the hotel as long as its on the strip and isnt too shabby (nor too luxurious as we are on a budget, the Bellagio will have to wait!)
Its for 2 people (me and the Boyf) and we have around £1500 to spend.
Could possibly push for a little bit more, but not too much.
Can fly from all london airports and would prefer non stop flights.

    Thanks

    hi all
thanks for all your help so far in choosing a hotel. i went away and investigated the hotels you all suggested but since having my baby ive become unable to make a decision so im still not sure. am driving my other half mad as spend all night online researching it all lol!!
i think monte carlo is the fav as the right price for us and central but have some reviews saying its furthwr away than you think from the action and that the building work next door (is that still on?) is a nightmare as dust, dirt and noise ruin the stay
i would LOVE to go to the venetian even in all its tacky glory but i have read many reviews saying they pump an old womens perfume smell through the aircon really strongly and the rooms are tired looking!!

i do try to take reviews with a pinch of salt as what one person likes another may hate but it is always a little concerning when the same comments come up again and agin on different sites and different people.

any ideas if these comments are true or not? the last two im considering are nyny and paris.

its soooooo difficult when we dont have a lot of money and this is gonna be our only special holiday away (a break from the baby too) for a long long time so in case u think im neurotic i just want it to be so special.

p.s now our wedding plans here are potentially falling through im thinking of having a wedding there instead just us two - is that the done thing in the hotels or are u expected to have guests? i know the chapels etc do ceremonies for two but was wondering where would be nice and not awkward?

i know im really demanding of all ur knowledge!!! sorry :)

Arrived last night and all went well with the trip. We flew BA Club and must say it is as good as VS Upper. Had entrance to the Galleries lounge in T5 which was nicer than I thought it would be. Had a bit of a hickup when checking in as the system didn't think that Tracy had done her ESTA but the assistant did a refresh and it came up. Flight left 20 minutes late because a couple of people decided that they would do a bit more shopping first, they got a slow hand clap when they got on the plane, but we arrived a bit early. We were the only ones on the car hire bus and picked up the car in double quick time as we signed up for the Dollar Express pass. Good job as there were about 20 people waiting at the counter with 1 person serving. Managed to get from touchdown to the hotel via car hire in an hour!! The nice people at the Platinum have upgraded us to a Princess suite. It even has a washing machine and tumble dryer.
I am really hacked of with Harrahs though, we went to PlanetHo to get our cards changed over from A list to TR and we had read that as I am a Gold A list I would get a Diamond TR card, well they lied, so all that effort we put in the past to get status has been wipped out.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Nothing would possess me to stay in the Circus Circus. Whilst it's on the strip it's a long long way away from the best bits. You shouldn't have to pay that much more for somewhere like Excalibur or Imperial Palace and you'd be so much better positioned.

    Cheers,

    Hi Kate,

It's a big step up from the Monte Carlo to the Venetian with reference to price. We're staying in Monte Carlo for a bit of our trip this year and we've always enjoyed it there. There does seem a consistency to the "strong smell" reviews at the Venetian but we have never noticed it in the casino. The places are so big and the air conditioning so good that, even with a majority smoking on a weekend night, the smells don't linger in any of the big casinos - and this is from a pair of ardent non-smokers who would definitely notice.

Monte Carlo isn't too far away from the action either. Whilst nothing in Vegas is as close as it appears to be, a lot of people over-egg the walking drudgery aspect. We prefer it down at the South end of the strip so Monte Carlo, NYNY and Paris are all great choices. None of these get rave reviews for their pool areas though. We really enjoyed the MGM Grand Pool but we're properly looking forward to the Bellagio pool this year.

    Cheers,

    Billy
