...but as we know not all hotels have the same channel selection and what was shown in previous years doesn'y mean they will cover it this year
indeed, that's the same with anything though (BBC / ITV + football, F1 etc)... incidently, I remembered it was Forest v. Salisbury City and not Yeovil - how's that for a clash of the titans match!

Also, given you aren't into football...
    eh??

edit: ahhh, you're referencing my typo of 'cup final'... i meant '2nd round replay' ;) sorry - wasn't thinking properly... all this talk of cup finals! :D in fairness, i support neither team - it was just to pass the time whilst the missus was busy being ill :D

We are off on honeymoon on 17th May, after reading some posts I am tempted to go to Mnt Charleston, which looks staright forward enough - I assume I won't need a 4x4 in May?

I also want to go to Red Rock Canyon, but all the postcodes or address I try in Google Earth head to the SE of the city, whereas I know it is on the West by about 15 miles - does anyone know the best way to program directions into a SatNav is?

I have never had a sat nav in America, you dont need one to Redrock as you say it isnt far away. There are a number of options but basically if you head west you cant miss it

Thanks...we were thinking of the last 3 or 4 nights at the Monte Carlo but OH is looking at Bally's now.....nothing booked yet...plenty of time...any good deals around for the IP

Definitely go for the Monte Carlo over Bally's, the casino itself is a lot nicer and it has an excellent coffee shop. Just a lot nicer.

when we went we just went West on Charleston and agree with photome, you can't miss it.

Personally, we like Valley of Fire more than Red Rock...it's a bit further, and less hiking-type opportunities, but we thought the rock formations were awesome.

100% disagree. I wouldn't rank either casino as that great really and MC is bigger...but Bally's location is much better and rooms are huge...plus easier access to a number of other properties. Both properties seem to tend to attract a slightly older crowd, but MC always seems like most of their clientele are quite a lot older than average. As for dining options, I don't think Bally's has many of note, but there are so many right around there that no one will be short of options.

It's all relative and all that...but MC is one of the properties that has never even made it to the consideration stage for us. :)

    Ditto.

I have never stayed at MC as I've never fancied it so not really qualified to comment on staying there.

Never much fancied Bally's either, but decided to try it last year, probably swayed by ferf's recommendation.

We LOVED our stay there. It did help that we were upgraded to a junior suite, but we just liked everything about it - the location, the proximity to Paris and centre strip, etc.

I've stayed at both Bally's and Monte Carlo. If you can have a Bally's North tower room, I would definitely choose that over MC. The pool area at MC used to be nice, but it isn't as good now that City Center is encroaching on it.
