Well I've booked my trip out to Vegas and leave in 5 days so I am trying to sort out a few bits and pieces. Decided to stay at the MGM rather than the Mirage just due to the cost - Mirage was deceptive as had to add a daily fee on top of the room rate and seeing as the room will be a base we just didn't see the point. Any how with the money we have saved we want to use it for some shows so I thought that I would try and pick some brains on here. We've seen Phantom, KA and crazy horse last year (would recommend all but the later) and quite fancy O and Peepshow, but I am open to other suggestions.

Firstly I have read that O doesn't seem to offer any kind of discounts but I wondered if there is still the possibility of getting reduced priced tickets on the day at the box office? Has anyone been able to do this? I know there is a discount code with playbill and I can get 2 tickets for $225 plus tax for section 303 but I think I would like closer seats. I remember reading on here that someone was able to get 1/2 price BOGOF on KA at the box office so I dont know if this is wishful thinking for O.

Secondly I've had a look on ticketmaster for Peep show tickets but it comes up blank - not sure if it is sold out or not - anyone been to see it if so where did you get your tickets and what did you think?

Thanks in advance to any advice or any pointers.

Check out the Official Cirque du Soleil website www.cirquedusoleil.com and become a member if you aren't one already. They have a promotions page (link below but not sure if it'll work if your not a member)

    http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/lasvegas/en/promotions/index.asp

Anyway they have $60 Tickets for Mystère, Zumanity, KÀ and CRISS ANGEL Believe. $90 Tickets for “O” and LOVE.

With regards to Peepshow, we booked through Ticketmaster so you should be able to do that. Personally having seen both Peepshow and Zumanity, i much prefered the later. Oh and if you do go for Zumanity, go for the 10:30pm show.

I'm sure this question has already been asked, and I have read the relevant article, but I'm still pretty confused so thanks for any answer and the patience!

Basically, i'm trying to sort out our spending money for vegas. OH wants to take traveller's cheques but I'm not really a fan. We have natwest and HSBC current accounts but i haven't heard good things about using those cards abroad. I don't mind applying for a new account but I really don't want to be messing around changing direct debits etc.

We have a barclarycard which we'll be using to pay for hotels for the rest of our 14 night stay. I know not the best card but it will be getting paid off or balance transferred when we get back.

Thanks for any help at all!

    Have you read the sticky

As others have said, apply for a new card.

    Anyone stayed at the Rio?

I usually go off strip to the Orleans(which is great and can usually be got for about $25 a night) but fancy a change.

The pool looks good at the Rio.

    Any opinions anyone.

ps i have been there for the buffet and seen the masquarade on the sky.

Stayed at Rio last May. Very nice rooms. We had a view of the pool area. I'll look out a few photos. There was an old style TV in a cabinet with a minibar underneath in the main room. The wardrobe in the vanity area had a fridge in it too.

  • Me and the BF are thinking of going Las Vegas in either July or late September. We are planning to spend 7 nights in Vegas and then go on somewhere else for another 7 nights can anyone advice me what they have done when they have done multi centre places. Don't fancy going somewhere too busy after more of a nice place to relax sunbath with a nightlife. xxx

IMHO, if you can afford it, buy currency from Crown or TEG, and use that to pay the hotel bill/spending etc. Thats what we did......all hotel, food, shopping was in cash as we had a great rate of about $1.70 from Crown thru buying 30 days or so in advance.
