AprilHi Luci - it's nice to be home but not so nice to not be in Vegas.
We were in room 2738 at Encore - south facing. We didn't hear anything at all except the shower from the adjoining room (when in the bathroom) - maybe because it was a mid-level floor - it was perfect and decent view though that pesky Wynn tower blocked some of what would have been an even better view...I think rooms at the other end of the floor would have had less Wynn view blockage.
We did check at the Red Card booth our last day to see if we had enough points for a free buffet each and the guy intimated that we did but the best thing to do was to charge to the room then come back to them before check-out. So we did that and they sent us to the host's office. We felt very fish-out-of-water as the host's office is in the high limit room (saw at least one $5000 slot) and felt a bit stupid as we're not really host-worthy, especially at Encore. But she was really nice and took off the buffets and our internet charges and gave us her card and said to email her next time we're in town. Still, would have preferred to just deal with it at the Red Card booth!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
October , NovemberGlad you had a great time and are planning another trip. I'm looking forward to your TR because I always pick up good info from it.
Our dates are 5th Oct to 25th Nov. Just letting you know.;)
You can avoid us at your leisure if you know the dates. Seriously though, it would be great to see you both again. If we don't, I'll say Hi to Norm for you.0 -

Each to their own.
I thought it took ages to get to the strip whatever hotel your in.
I also like the kitchen facilities as I like to do my own breakfast in the morning.
The casino side doesn't bother me.It's there if I want it.Thanks for your comments.
Kitchen at Sig is fab, especially if you dont acclimatise to the time change and wake up at 3am every day.
MGM is a standard walk to the strip, like Encore/Mirage/PH etc.....Signature has an extra fiftteen minute walk to MGM on top of that.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
I would probably do the same as Luci - switch Bellagio to Aria since Aria's new...Vdara doesn't interest us as there's no casino (though I know this wouldn't be an issue for some). We liked our stay at Bellagio but had a lakeview room and without that it wouldn't have been worth it to us...we much prefer Wynn (and Encore even more) to Bellagio.
Agree. Aria or Vdara, not both cos theyre both in CC.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
You up early trets, or going to bed late?!
up early ( 3am !!!) . taking my mum and dad to the Airport at 4am has made my body clock go haywire . no point changing it too much , a week of early 6am starts awaits from Wednesday .
Okay a bit off topic , but is anyone else disgusted at how you get treated at UK Airports now .
you now have to pay a £1 for the privilege of simply dropping someone off at the Airport , not to mention a £1 to use a trolley .:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
it is so annoying travelling out of / into this country . it just how many different ways can we rip you off while at the airport . food , drinks , shopping and they now even have the nerve to charge you a £1 for a plastic bag to put your liquids in at security .
also the service is P**s poor . the thing that really highlights this is the bus to / from car parking ( or Car hire ) . In USA , the bus driver has ALWAYS been nice , friendly and without fail has helped us with our bags on to the Bus . UK they just stand outside the bus smoking and watch old people struggle . and don't even get me started on how bad it is to get back into your own country when coming back . lovely welcome back isn't it , to be treated like cattle and something they found on the bottom of their shoe .
it makes me really mad , because it doesn't have to be like this . I'm sure it's Gordon browns fault somehow :mad::mad::mad::mad:
Rant over , feel better :ABetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

I agree, our customer service in this country is pretty shocking and it's even more noticeable when you return from the US. Two reasons (IMO), lazy attitude of a lot of workers, along with the fact that we put up with crap service. When was the last time any of us complained ? I can't remember myself, which suggests it was a while ago.
As for the £1 airport 'drop-off' charge, I must stick up for Liverpool Airport who have been decent enough to provide a 10min car park so you can pick-up & drop-off for free. Shame Manchester Airport would rather rip people off, then try and tell you it's all been done for security reasons.
My rant over.0 -

And tipping...that, to me, is a big part of it...people who work primarily for tips (as in the US) will generally go that extra mile...people who rarely receive tips (as in the UK) generally won't since they have no incentive to.
The customer service thing is always a bit of a shock going to and from the US. Pretty much every trip within about 30 minutes of landing one of us says 'I love America' in direct response to some outstanding bit of customer service we received.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
