Better hotel, less money. No brainer. And I stayed at Signature over Xmas......lovely hotel but Wynn/Encore is a different class.

Agree. I have stayed at both and will be staying at the Encore again next month. Don't think I will stay at the Signature again, it just didn't suit us although others love it.

There's nothing really bad about it, but it is set well back from the strip and it takes 15 mins just to get to the strip the quickest way. Make that 25-30 mins if you go through the MGM.

    Hiya

Im booked to go in Nov with Virgin, 4 nights at the Bellagio & 4 nights at the Encore. Due to a change of plans i have to change my booking date to May 2011. Looking at Virgins website there are a few hotels now on there that were not on there when we originally booked, Vdara &, Aria - When we went in 2008(stayed at the Wynn), none of these were built......

Do you think these are worth a look at? I have to pay an amendment fee anyway, so would be no extra to change?

    What do you guys reckon?

My initial thought is to keep Encore as it seems to be a pretty safe bet (we're staying there in around 3 weeks time) and change Bellagio for Aria.

From what others have said, without a 'lake view' room, Bellagio is nothing special. Out of Vdara and Aria, Aria seems to be the higher grade hotel, so if it's not costing any extra, that's probably what I would do.

    Each to their own.
I thought it took ages to get to the strip whatever hotel your in.
I also like the kitchen facilities as I like to do my own breakfast in the morning.
The casino side doesn't bother me.It's there if I want it.Thanks for your comments.

I would probably do the same as Luci - switch Bellagio to Aria since Aria's new...Vdara doesn't interest us as there's no casino (though I know this wouldn't be an issue for some). We liked our stay at Bellagio but had a lakeview room and without that it wouldn't have been worth it to us...we much prefer Wynn (and Encore even more) to Bellagio.

It does take awhile to get to the strip from some hotels, from others it's not that far at all...certainly not 15-25 minutes for most. I can understand that having a kitchen would be a big plus for some and we would probably be more inclined to give Signature a try if it wasn't such a long haul to the strip and/or they had a casino on site and we didn't have to go to MGM or Planet Hollywood - but that's just us.

so as a follow on from your last trip, can we say you've not fallen out of love with Vegas

We felt much less 'meh' about Vegas this trip - not entirely sure why as we didn't do that much better gambling-wise, and didn't plan more than last trip (which we meant to - but being sick the first few days we kind of didn't want to do that much that required that much effort). We're planning on going back in the fall. :)

Very pleased to see that PH is now showing through our TR accounts - looks quite likely we'll try a Hollywood Hip room next trip. We did enjoy Paris, were pleasantly surprised about the room after having managed our expectations...but since the elevators spit you out in the shopping/restaurant 'street' it was always very crowded as soon as we got to ground level...we've agreed that we probably would go back to Bally's before staying at Paris again...but PH being thrown into the mix gives us another option.

And moving to Encore for the last 3 nights wasn't too bad - one bonus was I took the opportunity to run a case of dirty laundry to a laundromat and with that and packing up for the move, we didn't really spread out too much the last 3 nights so packing to go home wasn't the chore it normally is. I would consider a 2-hotel stay again...especially if one of the hotels was Encore - we really love that place. We're not 5* people but it's nice to have a bit of luxury now and again.

Nice to see you back ferf, although not so nice that your trip is over.

Which rrom/floor were you on at the Encore? Facing north or south? Did you hear any noise from the nightclub?

I am hoping to get a south facing room this time, but I also want it quiet and north facing rooms are normally quieter.
