Hi, did you know that MGM's KA have recently announced extra date, which is 2 shows on 30th May? :)

thanks will bear that in mind, don't know whether to book before we go or wait till we get out there, seeing as we can only go on the 30th may be best to book before

Am I right that Mandalay Bay has the best pool? Could I stay next door at the Luxor (which seems a lot cheaper!) and make use of the MB pool for an extra fee, if so how much, any other places have really good pools?

best pool is all down to opinion, it's certainly busy and it certainly has more going on (waves pool with strict life guards, lazy rivers etc etc) -- MGM Grand may be worth a look as well?

As with all of the hotels on the strip (except one whose name escapes me) you can only use the pool if you are actually staying at the hotel. Some don't bother checking, but MB swipes your room-key on the way in as verification :)

re: Virgin - great news! thanks for posting (someone whispered about this the other day too didn't they? thanks again to them too!) - hopefully the pricing will be cheaper than going from Gatwick too! :)

Hey guys, just want to thank people for posting good offers and just updates on their Vegas trips.

I am going out on the 15th Sep for a week with 5 other mates. This will be my 2nd time in Vegas and i cant wait.

We used the crazy 8's offer for the MGM so its worked out about £200 per person. The cheapest / most decent flight from Manchester was a 15hour duration 1 stop for £499.97 which i didnt think was too bad considering most of the offers.

We are thinking about renting a car when we are over there and maybe making a possible trip to LA, anyone advise me on if youve done this before?

Anyway guys cheers for all the info.

    Regards

    Mark

hey I was thinking about going that day or the 16th possibly from Manc, where did you book flights/hotel, how many nights for £200?

Thanks, MGM is second choice right now after Luxor so if they have a better pool might sway the decision

MGM Grand pool certainly seems to have more going on than Luxor (which from memory is just a rectangle pool)... however that also possibly means it will be busier (tho I think both hotels have roughly the same amount of rooms?? ~4000?

You seen the MGM pool maps?

You can also view them at night from the top of the Eiffel Tower across the road.
indeed - this was very memorable for us... had to fight our way to the front though!

...also was very memorable watching them from our room @ Paris (although you can only hear the music whispering through the window vents!)

we did stay @ Bellagio once (FANTASTIC room) but the view didn't really merit any photos cos we only saw about 3/4 of the fountains, however i'm sure a view from the main rooms would be good, and you also get the advantage there of having the music piping through your TV

one of the best views we got though was of the miniture model in the Bellagio conservatory :D

(sorry, any excuse to post a few photos!) :D

edit: argh, it annoys me when people post pictures larger than the page and look what i went and did! many apologies guys :(

Just an idea for anyone looking for options for restaurant.com - we tried a new restaurant last night - The Triple George Grill downtown. My husband chose it when I was trying to find restaurant to use a credit for and was coming up short. We thought it was great - a real old Vegas feel to the place. Great service, bread basket and olives/gherkins/etc. before your meal. I had the lobster ravioli special ($19.95), he had the bone-in ribeye ($31.95), we both had soft drinks (not wine drinkers), each had a latte and split a dessert (which startled us when it arrived as it was 3x the size we were expecting) and after the voucher (which adds 18% gratuity automatically) it was $63. We will absolutely go back.

Also, for slot fans, the Queen slots are the current Wizard of Oz machines - the ones that it's hard to even get on as they're always full some places. So far have seen them at Encore, Orleans and Gold Coast. The Orleans and Gold Coast ones were busy but people came and went. The ones here at Encore are rammed most of the time. We took a video of a bonus round at Orleans today. They are good fun and if you like the music at all are really cool.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
