    Guys

Went to Vegas last week and had a blast. Just want to thank whoever it was on this forum that recommended Tom @ www.shootingsafaris.com who took us gun shooting for a few hours. Very good instructor and informative. We spent over 4 hours shooting around 10 different types of guns which is much better than the conveyor belt system at The Gun Store. Definitely recommended

In terms of hotels, we stayed at Aria - which had small rooms but very high tech and everything still has that new building smell - and Palazzo - which was very nice and large with excellent service.

We also did houseboating at Lake Mead which was tranquil and such a contrast to the buzz of Vegas. http://www.callvillebay.com/

Hi guys.. we're in Vegas between 15-20 September.
Bought my OH a Vegas 2010 Frommers Book for Valentines. He's noticed as reading it tonight, that there is the Fall ALs Vegas Market (design) convention on between 13-17th September. Which says there will an ecpected attendance of 55,000...

We were holding off on buying hotel room unril the deals came out.. btu having seen this are we better to book early?

    Thanks,

    Kelda

55,000 isn't a big convention for Vegas - it shouldn't have a big impact on hotel rates.

If you are at all worried book a hotel directly that you can cancel when the deals come out.

    Cheers Stoneman.

Spoke to Delta as well - they left me stuck in Minneapolis as their best shot!

    The desk was useless too

I'd probably have taken that and gone standby -as Minneapolis is one of their hubs -but I do understand-especially travelling with kids why you didn't.

Lousy luck but the weather at Atlanta was truely horrible-a friend lives 50 miles outside of the city and commutes and got stranded in the city after a work shift- unheard of weather.

The Cupcakery now has a location at Monte Carlo.

I was looking up the addresses for their other locations to put in my Garmin and lo and behold, I found this.

Thanks Ferf, i searched out the one on S Eastern ave last time I went (thanks to you ) and ate them in the parking lot:D. May be more comfortable in the Monte Carlo...they are not cheap tho.

Just read your other post Ferf, didnt realise you had never made it to S Eastern Ave, It isnt a glamorous location but they do have one table outside a very small store so that you can enjoy your cupcakes in the parking lot.

Just to add I thought they were expensive for what they are and wouldnt be rushing back for a second helping but they are "nice"

I'm not bothered if the room is a bit dated...I would prefer a strip view....think we will probably go for Bally's over Harrahs as the latter isn't really far from the IP so wouldn't really warrant a move

Did you guys sign up for the Total Rewards card last time you were there? Since all of your hotels are with the Harrah's group if you have signed up and haven't already - check rates using your TR account. Even people who don't gamble much have found some good rates.

Yes I'm already signed up but I don't have any offers or anything as we didn't gamble....I only used it for shopping

Pretty sure we will spend the first 10 days at Imperial and the last four more mid strip,Bally's Paris or Flamingo....or maybe even Bills

Just poking around about the HET takeover of PH...found this - according to what someone was told by their host, PH will be hooked up to Total Rewards on 28th March.

    http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g45963-i10-k3378606-o20-Planet_Harrahs-Las_Vegas_Nevada.html

This is exceptionally exciting to us as we arrive on 1st April and were already planning on spending more time playing at PH since we like the slots there...so bonus if we'll be earning TR credits for our play there.

I know some people are unhappy about it and I can see that HET getting another casino will not lead to increased competition on the strip...but being HET fans, it's nice to have a new hotel added to the options and another casino where our play will count to the overall balance on our cards.

I don't have any offers, but I can get comped rooms going through reservations after logging in.
