    Which dates are you going?

I just checked my dates booking direct with Bally's v Hotels.com and Expedia

    Bally's - $36/night
    Hotels.com - £46/night or $72
    Expedia.com - $72

    It's a no-brainer for my dates.
25/04-29/04 4 nights total is now around £140 but when I booked was 137 and expedia.co.uk had 12% cashback.

Are you using a special promo code for your figures?

    :)

Just checked the rates for our dates in May at MGM Grand, to find they have dropped. So, I've cancelled that booking and still using the Play CRAZY 8's offer, rebooked. That's a further saving of £46 over the four days.:j

Yes that was using my TR card. Without one the rates on the Bally's site are about the same as Expedia. There may be a promo offer which will bring the direct rates down, but it's a bit early yet.

Funny, I've just checked my dates and the rates have actually gone up.

I also tried the 222 Offer which is what I have booked. That has also gone up and the Celebrity Spa Suite is not available now although it was when I booked.

That's a shame Luci. Have just checked my dates using the 222 Offer and they are down too, although the Celebrity Spa Suite is not showing.

Bally's hot deals rates (available to anyone via harrahs.com) for your dates are currently $196 including tax...so about £124.

The other benefit of booking direct is if you gamble at all is you may find they will reduce your rate upon check out...if you've booked via a 3rd party there's nothing for them to adjust on the room rate as you aren't paying them anything. You could charge food to your room and they might comp that of course.

And it's purely anecdotal evidence, but many think that if you book via 3rd party you're less likely to get a complimentary upgrade/nicer room.

And if you book direct you can easily confirm your reservation just by going to the hotel's website.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Am I right in thinking that there are other ways in which to accumulate TR Points besides gambling? I think I read that you could use the cards for shopping and entertainment, would this include dining and drinks?

Yes you can earn points for dining in restaurants and booking shows in HET properties provided you show your TR card when paying/booking.

Thanks Luci, that's good to know as we will probably try some of their buffets and restaurants.:)
