Yes that was using my TR card. Without one the rates on the Bally's site are about the same as Expedia. There may be a promo offer which will bring the direct rates down, but it's a bit early yet.

    Hello all -

QUESTION : Both myself and my OH have TR cards. We WONT be staying in a Harrahs property for our holiday in June/July, BUT my brother may be staying at Ballys...... CAN I BOOK HIS ROOM FOR HIM USING ONE OF OUR CARDS?!! I could pay on our credit card and he give me the money maybe?

    Any views on this?.................
    Any opinions welcome!

You could - if it's just him who will be staying in the room you're going to do it - book in your name, for 2 people in the room...you'll need to check in, preferrably with him - add his name to the reservation at check-in so if he loses his key he can get a new one. If you're going to check in before he arrives, when he does arrive go down to the desk and add him to the reservation then if they don't let you when you check in on your own (they usually want to see ID).

    Hello all,
Currenlty researching a nice place to have a "bit of do" when in Vegas.
I have researched various options and Maggianos - Italian in Fashion Show Mall seems to be quite good (8/1,000's restaurants on Trip Advisor)!

Any one here had direct experience of eating there? Any tips/warnings/recommendations etc...

I am thinking of the "Family Style" lunch menu for a group of 8-12. Am I right in thinking that Family Style is where you choose a couple of items from starter, salad, mains and then share them around? I think thats what it is....

    Hope someone can advise.
    Thanks in advance.

He will be staying alone - so, if it saves him quite a bit, then I make the reservation in my name, check in with him - add his name at this stage and voila?! He can use the room on the better rate and I can happily go back to The Orleans with my OH. Do you think this will work?

Re Magianno's. We went there in 2005 as I had read so many good things about it. Our experience wasn't good. OH had chicken I think which was OK, but nothing startling. I had a pasta dish. I ordered a half portion which was enormous, but it was bland and tastless. It was like wallpaper paste.

However, it gets great reviews and I haven't seen anyone else say a bad word about it so we may have just been unlucky on that night.

I would recommend booking in advance as we had at least an hour's wait for a table and that was just for two.

Had our wedding meal in Maggiano's last June and it was fantastic, we also went back there on our last night as we enjoyed it so much.

We'll be going back to Vegas this June for the 1st anniversary and will be eating there again.

    ** edit **

Juat to add a bit more info....

we selected the wedding meal package, and chose 2 starters, 2 mains, 3 sides and 2 desserts from their selection on the menu

the food was served 'family style' and there was loads, they brought out so much food it was such a shame that we couldnt eat it all.

Our package also included all drinks for 4 hours, beers wine spirits and soft drinks, and also a 2 tier wedding cake which we could coose the type/filling/icing etc etc.

All in all it worked out to be about $100 per head including tip for our server who was very good and timed everythign perfectly and was also not shy in replenishing everyone's drinks ocne they got a bit low.

We had our own private room off the main restaurant, the Barolo room and it was a perfect setting for the meal and was exactly what we had hoped it would be.

We loved Maggiano's we will defo be going again in Sept not only did we love the food we liked the atmosphere. As Luci has said we had a bit of a wait but we like to have a drink before our meal anyway so its not really an issue for us but otherwise I would also recommend booking. Oh and if you sign up to their mailing list you get a $10 off voucher if I remember right, but do it about a week before you go as when it comes through it is only valid for 10 days or somthing like that anyway! Mmmmmm Maggiano's :)

I can't think why it wouldn't. He can check out via the telly too so won't even have to go down to the desk or anything. Whether it would impact future offers/discounts if you didn't play there I'm not sure...may not be an issue for you.
