MayHello
I posted back in November time I think asking for some advice regarding my upcoming trip in May. At the time I had just booked for and paid in full a 9 night stay at the MGM in a Celebrity Spa Suite via lastminute.com for a total of £620. It's been 3 months since then and I am seriously thinking to change things around as I feel 9 nights in one hotel is a bit much, it is the south end of the strip, the reviews I have seen on the CSS is that the room is worn and tired. I remember Luci at the time posting saying I could cancel the deal subject to a £20 charge via the website. When I have gone to the website to do this, I have been put off as it states it £20 PLUS hotel costs - what would these be? I have tried calling the website, but after being on hold for 20 mins I hung up!
Other alternatives I have found it this, how did this sound (all via cityandshow.com);
5 nights in NYNY at a cost of £251 ($391 which includes and Fri & Sat night) followed by 4 nights at the Wynn at a cost of £308 (about $480).
Is the Wynn too far North? Is it nicer than the Venetian & Palazzo?
I have used an exchange rate of $1.54 to the £1.00.
Any thoughts? Does this sound reasonable?
Any advice appreciated!
Thanks in advance

AprilTried that, thanks
CC company said it isn't at their end
Ah well, have to try Tix4tonight
Maybe try again after awhile - could be that they are having trouble with their site? What's the message it's giving you?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I would try again and double check everything you enter.
I once had my card declined after using it online dozens and dozens of times. Couldn't understand it and called my CC company. They didn't actually tell me what was wrong, but hinted that it may be the expiry date. Then the penny dropped that I had entered the wrong date.
I just placed an order online for Donny & Marie tickets. I read everything before pressing Continue, then checked it all again at the next screen. Was just about to press Submit when I realised I had put in the Security Number for the card I use in the UK and not the one I use when ordering in USD.0 -

I don't think you need to worry. I think that is to cover them in case any of the hotels they offer impose cancellations charges. You can normally cancel Vegas hotels up to 48-72 hours before arrival without penalty and get your deposit back unless it is a non-refundable offer, which I doubt this is.In the event that the hotel booking needs to be cancelled, for whatever reason, you are liable to pay an administration fee of £20. This will be in addition to any cancellation charge our hotels may impose.
A refund for the booking cost will be given which will include deductions for the administration fee and the charge the hotel may impose. If these fees are greater than the booking cost, the cancellation will be at the full cost of the booking and no refund will be given.
If you want to be certain, check on lastminute.com to see if they have an email contact address.0 -

Could do with a bit of advice please!!
Im planning to book my 1st holiday to Las vegas.
Through experience does Ive found a flight in the Virgin 'sale' which ends tonight for the 20th-26th april for £533.50 each from Gatwick. Does anyone think this is a good deal??
I would really appreciate if anyone has advice.
Thanks
probably par for the course with your dates being near . it will probably only get more expensive nearer the time . If you haven't heard us discuss this flight , most of us dislike it ( in some cases a lot )
what other prices can you get for indirect .??Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

Firstly, if you book direct with the hotel thru offers posted here or places like fatwallet, you can pay in cash on departure using a rate of $1.748 to the pound buying your dollars here https://www.crowncurrencyexchange.com/content/cancelled-currency-contracts.asp
I would also do a two hotel stay, as you say in different parts of the strip. eg Venetian/NYNY or Wynn/MGM or PH/TI. Or base more centrally like Paris/Bellagio.
Wynn is OKayish locationwise even tho its north end, as closeby are TI, Mirage, Venetian, Palazzo, FSM....Peppermill also walkable.
Ive never stayed Wynn, but have Venetian (loved it), and the Wynn photos didnt wow me as much as I thought they would......both will be superb though and better or equal than almost any other hotel youve ever stayed at.illegitimi non carborundum0
