If you mean somewhere that has more amenities than a standard hotel, The Signature, Platinum (mentioned just recently with a great deal), The Carriage House, Trump...those sorts of places are more like home and relatively. near the strip.

Sorry, just saw that photome had already suggested Signature and Platinum...didn't mean to duplicate. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

somewhat dodgy area up there - I wouldn't stay there personally and I'm not very picky.

I'm very picky too and stopped at the Strat (although $140 for 5 nights helped..)
Just jump off the Deuce right in front to get there / back... no problems.

Walked from the strip with no hassles too (although it was early - 9 or 10pm).

The Hilton, if I'm thinking of the right place) is between the strip and the Strat. Deuce stops right outside there too

Ok having done some digging and gone to different sites.. this is the best prices I can get for the Flamingo.

    9 nights (19/4/2010 to 28/4/2010)
    3 Adults
    2 Deluxe rooms
Direct Flight Gatwick to Las Vegas

Basic Flights are £1432.50 (£447.50 each) with Virgin through eBooker.

Booking Directly with Hotel using the "Family and Friends Offer" on previous page
    - £954 for rooms + £1432.50 = grand total of £795.5 pp

    Expedia.co.uk
    - £759 pp including flights and hotel.

    1800 Hotels through travelsupermarket.com
    - £691.86 pp

Has anyone used 1800 Hotels before and is it safe enough to book flights and hotel separtely of each other? Never done it before.

What exchange rate are you using to convert the hotel price? From what I can see the hotel is $711.20 per room - so $1422.40 for 2...even at 1.55 that's only £917 for the rooms.

I'm not very picky is what I said. ;)

Different strokes and all - I personally don't like the area up there much at all...and I won't take the Deuce. we have walked from the Strat to the monorail station at Sahara before and that was fine during the day, but at night it did seem noticeably sketchy to us. It just seems a bit on the isolated side to me even ignoring the neighborhood. But I can see for the right price that it might be a place to consider.
