Thanks for the comments - part of my problem is that, at the moment, I can't pay it even if I want to! I'm rather annoyed as this chap only asked for this the day after he won the item - if he doesn't want to trust me fine! But I really needed to make this a quick sale and now seem to be back to square 1.

This sounds phishy to me, I suspect someone is looking for some stealable details from you.

Just decline and after day 4 start an Non paying bidder dispute. I'd also phone paypal and see what they think, this is far too scammy.

I thought so too - but they have a high amount of feedback and the verification thing is an ebay item. Can I send out a second chance offer?

MyopicMoo - if you have a paypal account then they have already verified your details when you first set up the account. Email the winner and tell them that and that if this is not acceptable to them you will file a non payment thingy! I've used ebay for many years, I haven't sold vast quantities of stuff but have never heard of an address verification from ebay, it's normally paypal that require verifications.
Prob not much help, but that's what I would do.

Thanks all for your responses - I told them I would not do as they asked and they don't plan to pay. I am about to file a non payment thing and have also sent a query about the buyer's address verification to ebay.

I have sent out a second chance offer but the whole thing is a real pain as we really need the money urgently. I have blocked the buyer so I won't waste any more time on them!

  • MyopicMoo - Wow, its these sort of people that put me off eBay for a while. KUP about what eBay says.

I have sold 3 items this morning for a total of £71! :j I then spent £3.99 on a cable I need so I have made £67.01, but havent transferred money to bank account yet. 2 more items to end today, 1 is on £3.60, the other has no bids.

Quick question though. On my paypal account one payment is 'pending' and on the paypal email says it will be released in 21 days. Why is this? Could it be because I havent used it in a while?

I had a pending payment before - it was released after a few days although it had said 21. I think paypal gives a list of possible reasons. Thanks

pending payments sometimes mean that the person has paid you by an echeque although they only take 7 days to clear

Could it be an e-cheque although 21 days does seem a very long time! I have had payments pending before and they have taken ages to come though - very frustrating!!
