Some madness - a few months ago my mum asked me to look out on Ebay for a book (it's a craft book) she had borrowed the book from somewhere she goes and wanted to get a copy of her own as she kept renewing it.

Anyway, I checked on Ebay and saw one listed for about £50, my mum was amazed as the book was only £15.99 to buy when it first came out, I looked on Amazon and they were asking for a lot more for this book. I remembered a couple of days ago and did another search on Ebay for the book but nothing came up so I looked at Amazon again, couldn't believe that there are two copies of this book on Amazon one new for £225, the other Used for £215 - what madness is that!!!!!!

Anyway, I did a search using Google and it came up with a few places, one was WHSmith but they were out of stock, they were asking £10.66 I think, then I saw it for £11 something somewhere else. I've ordered two copies of it, one for my Mum and the other to sell - worth a try and see how much I can sell it for.

Just can't believe that a book on a particular craft is so much money, even my mum couldn't believe how much people were wanting for it.

Just because they are listed at those prices it doesn't mean they sell. Amazon frequently has books listed at silly prices that never sell, Did you look at he completed listings on ebay?

I know they probably won't sell for the price they have listed on Amazon, I certainly wouldn't have paid that price, but I did see one go for about £50 on Ebay a few months ago, there have been none recently when I checked the completed listings, it's the fact that the price they are asking for is £225 for a book that was originally £15.99 that is madness, why do they think the book is worth that much? It's just a book on a certain craft, even my mum couldn't believe it, I think when I first looked on Amazon there were some for £125 we just couldn't understand why this particular book was being offered for sale for such a ridiculous price.

I'll definitely be keeping my eye open on Ebay to see if any are listed, I certainly wouldn't put my spare copy on for a ridiculous price even if I started it at the original price I'd still make a few pound on it and if it went for more all the better.

Well done mrscmr. Only watchers for me so far but added some new listings today - not too many unfortunately as I was trying to manage several children and their requirements - but up to 45 now. Having tomorrow off eBay to list books on Amazon/GreenMet but will be back to eBay listing on Thursday. Fingers crossed that I get some bids soon :)
