I did rubbish again not going to bother with the free listing days. 5 out of 23 sold, one was paid by echeque, I emailed the buyer to ask whether she was in a rush for it as they can take a long time to clear, heard nothing & then yesterday pulling stuff from the cupboard I broke the bl00dy thing, I've now got a listing on want it now & hope that I can replace it. Grrr. I've emailed the buyer today & not heard anything. Without the broken item it was £70 I sold but again, loads of watchers but not bidding.
Well done to everyone who did well.
I think that I'm going to go for 3 or 5 day listings, not on free listing days & see how that goes.0 -
Have a problem I need help/advice please.
Sold something in February to someone in Russia, they e-mailed me about a month ago to say it hadn't turned up, they said they would wait another week and e-mailed me back the other day, I've tried to send money via Paypal (gifted) as I cannot refund from the original transaction as it's been too long and the details are not available. I got a message saying that people in Russia could only send money not receive it. I e-mailed back and he has asked me to do bank transfer or something and has given me 3 different website addresses but am not happy to refund that way.
What should I do? How can I refund his money if Paypal will not let me send him any? What about a money transfer from the Post Office, would that work?
Anyone else had this problem before please?
Thanks

TMD that sounds like a question for Soolin.
Last night I put 4 things on BIN with Best Offer, one item had an offer overnight. Yeah, 3 people watching it, I accepted the offer.
Another item has 4 watchers I'm hoping that someone will be brave enough to make an offer.
These are all things that have had lots of watchers each time I list.
Payday soon isn't it, think I'll put some more on BIN. I've never tried selling this way before.
I think as well I'm going to bite the bullet, & set up a shop, I haven't used my business acct for years.
As I'm just in the process of going through CCCS re my debts I need to do something.
I just wish that the DWP would get back to me about going self-employed as I'm really scared that they will stop my benefits & if I don't sell anything I won't be able to pay the mortgage.
I wish I could find a part time job that I could do so that I would at least know that the mortgage would be covered.0 -
Have any of you far more clever than I people worked out how much per month you would need to sell to make it worthwhile having a basic shop?
I've been sat pondering, panicing, pacing until I'm now all p'd out & off.
I need someone to tell me what to do please.
I aim to list approx 70 items a week on the business acct, prices ranging from 1.99 to around £30. Would I be better off with a shop or just lising on business account please?
Any advice, gratefully received.
Thank you
I have pondered some more & to start with am going to just list on the business acct, put some items to auction some BIN in the hope that people can find at least some of it & then look at my other items.
I will see how that goes & then when I've made a fortune will open a shop.
It's taken hours to do the returns policy, & everything else that is now needed. Also done an about me page.
Now going out to the garden to start taking pics & will list tonight.0 -
Why?
Why is it when I list a load of stuff on a free listing day hardly anything sells, when I relist them and have to pay I'm now selling quite a few of the items - sod's law eh!Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -

Its normally due to such a flood of items being listed a lot of it unsellable to. I now avoid free listing days as even if items do sell I get lower prices than i would at normal times even with fees.
Last weeken listed 20 or so cheap items on my private account as BINs they all sold within a day. This worries me maybe I under priced them? Well at least its clearing my house out0 -
I got a feedback on one of my magagzines that I sold that said:
WANTED COPY BUT MANY PAGES MISSING AND IMPERFECT
Luckily she had ticked the positive feedback button anyway, but I want to reply to it.
In the selling description, I did say that this was a damaged issue and listed all the pages that were missing and had things cut out. It looks like this this buyer did not read my full description.
I don't want new buyers to read this feedback and think I'm selling damaged goods and misleading the buyers. So what do you think of the following:

Hi all. Here's an idea for you which my parents went for. There has been a lot of talk about the hassle involved in taking photos, listing items, sending items off, and dealing with customer problems. Has anyone considered using an eBay broker or agent to basically cut all those issues out and just receive the cash? The official brokers are labelled as 'Trading Assistants' and can be searched for within eBay by postcode... just a thought.
The question is, if you sold this way, would you still be part of the challenge? ;-)0 -

Why give someone all your profit?
