I just had a buyer buy quite a few bits from me and I had told him to wait for an invoice so I could recalculate the postage. (he still had bids in on other things).

His final thing finished yesterday and he paid for the lot all in one go and with every single scrap of postage which is about 10 times more than he needed to pay as the stuff can easily go in two lots. I emailed him and said I would sort it all out today and refund the quite large amount he has overpaid and he sent back such a lovely email saying what a brilliant seller I was and how many wouldn't have refunded at all. He even suggested i keep the difference as there is something i just listed that he would also like and it looks like there will be enough to cover that even if it does get more than one bid.

Just having such a nice buyer (he has bought from me before) really makes you feel happier.

I've also got bids in on two of the things i bought at auction, so maybe my idea to branch out into collectables might just work..I just need to know a bit more about the sort of stuff that sells. One tip though, don't touch Wedgwood with a bargepole, last time i tried small collectables I bought a box at auction, and several years later I still have most of the box left. It sells for next to nothing, it is barely worth posting.

I hate it when people pay before requesting an invoice. I have someone who bought two items, requested an invoice, I sent the invoice within 10 minutes of them buying both and they have not paid yet, sent an e-mail on Tuesday when I got back from our short break and they still haven't paid, will give them a couple more days to make it 7 days and if no payment then will open dispute.

It's also annoying when people buy something with BIN and don't pay straightaway, I have one of those awaiting payment too, such a pain as I like to get stuff posted ASAP.

Well done Soolin. Collectables & old books would be the way I would go if I was brave enough to set up again as a business. Both are things that I love.
I've lost my Mojo, it was on a Wednesday in about 1964. That could be a song lyrics, hmm.
I need a kick up the !!!!, a kick up the !!!!. I have a box of roses in seriou danger of going off, I think I need to lie down with a book eat chocs, hot buttered toast & then have a little snooze. Maybe then I will feel up to the challenge.
Well done to everybody.

Come on hermum, don't give up.

I've listed some of the larger heavier antique bits and bobs on the local small ads, see if that gets any interest.

Just sold 2 items, again someone bought something from me yesterday BIN and didn't pay straight away, the last 2 days I've had to go to the Post Office with 1 parcel. Still waiting for payment for the 2 items from a week ago so opened a dispute.

Purpleroses - what do you do if someone wants more than one item, as they have to pay for each separately, that is what I don't understand about immediate payment, it must be a pain if people buy more than one item, do you e-mail them to ask if they want them posted together and refund the postage or just send them separately.

DD3 didn't fall asleep until 2.30 and is still asleep - eekkk, will have to wake her up soon as it's 5pm and she won't sleep later, hopefully daddy will be in early again tonight like last night.

I've managed to get 9 items on Turbolister for tonight (Private stuff) so am pleased I got that done. I hate doing listings on a Friday though so have done 10 day listings and added a BIN price to 'hopefully' sell earlier.

Only one more day left and the kids come back on Sunday so will have to finish tidying up what I sorted out yesterday so it's nice and tidy. OH is working all day tomorrow from 8am until 6pm so just me and DD, means I'll have to get up early.

Forgot to say I have 9 on Turbolister and 2 I listed earlier as I did them for 7 days so finished them earlier in the day than I normally do as I don't normally sell anything on a Friday evening.

tmd, when I've bought on BIN, you get the option to pay or continue shopping with the same seller, if you continue when you have bought all you want you then go to checkout & pay for everything in one go, so if you've set up a postage discount, this will come off & invoice is then ready for payment.

TMD I don't know about that. I have postage discounts set up but then if you can only buy 1 at a time the discount wouldn't apply. hmm. not sure. I don't tend to sell many bins but i'm sure there's a way around it.
