I'm not! The butcher's shops are always full of steak pies for New Year too. I'm not trying to be clever. Just because you've never heard of it doesn't mean it's not true.

Just because you've heard of it doesn't make it true for everyone. Why can't you accept it isn't a universal truth?Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

Okay - this is on the About Aberdeen website. http://www.aboutaberdeen.com/hogmanaycustoms.phpSteak pie and potatoes are traditionally eaten for New Year's lunch to help sober up Scottish men and women worldwide!
I'm not saying you have to eat it on NY day. We don't always have it. Sometimes we do. I thought it was pretty common knowledge. No need to get so worked up about it.

For crying out loud, do you two realise you are fighting about a steak pie? It's a bit lame.
Clearly for some, this is a well known tradition, for other's it's not.
Leave it there.

Okay - last post on the subject lol
You said it wasn't a tradition in this area. I was just pointing out that generally it is - and that's why the shops are full of them.
