Do you have a special meal on N Y Day?

Options
We're not party animals and sometimes don't even stay up for the bells, but one thing we do do...is have a big meal on New Year's Day just as we would on Christmas Day.

We have several courses and lots of nibbles and 'bits'. I thought this was a standard for pretty much everyone but I've been quite surprised lately to find out that some of the peeps I know, don't do this and in fact just kinda slob out and eat sandwiches or cheese on toast etc.

It's tradition here to always have plentiful food to welcome in the New Year, it's supposed to mean your table will never be bare throughout the year.

What does everyone else do?

Yep,we do the same.A big family dinner tomorrow .This year its MIL,s turn, looking forward to it.
Tonight we stay up just till midnight and have a sip of whisky and some shortbread. We phone all the family just after midnight to wish them a happy new year then go to bed.

Yes, we do the big meal on NYD

Usually it's at my mum's and we all (siblings, partners, kids) go round for a big steak pie dinner with 'all the trimmings'...yum :D

We always used to have another big meal on new years day like christmas day, but this year, one is at work here and the rest of us are out at the football all afternoon till about 6ish so no point in doing a big roast. Will wait and see what tomorrow brings.....
