  • hi everyone, a belated Merry MSE Christmas, I hope you have all had a nice time and that Santa has been kind :j

I have had a great time. got home on Christmas eve and played some harp for a bit, then had nibbles while I started on Christmas dinner.

Christmas Day was wonderful (apart from the tomato and basil kettle chips which didn't agree with the amount of gin that had been consumed!) - had fantastic food, lots to drink, went for a really lovely walk down to the farm I live next to, with my dad and the dogs while my mum had a nap, watched lots of telly and generally relaxed and enjoyed the warmth! after the almost heating crisis I was almost too hot!

I got a MAC foundation brush I have wanted for ages, gave the ex fiance a nice but low cost pressie which he loved (he came on xmas eve then went off on xmas day to his mums), got a book I have wanted for MONTHS from work Secret Santa which made me shriek with joy , and a nice baking book from my mum. Plus some money :j nothing much but all so wanted, loved and appreciated. My MSE journey is coming on a treat and I am confident that I know what's important and how to appreciate it.

Today I caught up with my old housemate for a coffee in town (got very grumpy trying to get parked up though) and then popped in on my old next door neighbour and her two children. She went through the same thing i did, with her ex husband, we haven't seen each other in a year but always have a good gossip.

2011 will be a year of keeping in touch better with those I love and cherish. I hope to add to the number of these by meeting new wonderful people. I consider myself utterly skint in the financial sense, but blessed in so many other ways. I feel very lucky.

I was taken by a post on cherisong's diary about not wanting to have a new self, but rather to find the old one. This made me smile and will be my aim in 2011.

Lots of love to all x

hi there, found your thread and am really impressed by how hard you have worked. Also what's this 30 day shred? That sounds interesting.

  • Its too late in the evening (night?) to make much sense, I am so impressed with your story tho, you sound amazing! you have done so well

    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • morning and thank you all for your kind words! :j I must say I have been very inspired by hypno's diaries and when things get tough, I remind myself of how much she has achieved and what is possible if I really put my mind to it.

had a fantastic nights sleep last night, just had a bacon butty and cup of tea and am waiting for the all day Pride and Prejudice binge on one of the crappy satellite channels. For me it is the ultimate escapism :D so I shall have a few snoozes with the dog, think lots and generally unwind.

I need to do some exercise to combat the xmas nibbles - 30 day Shred is a cruel but kind exercise DVD. it only takes 20 mins to do but it's very effective, I know a few on hypno's thread are big fans. I started it to shift some butt for my wedding dress and found it very achievable even with asthma and metalwork in my ankle. So I just need to get to it, ahead of the new year!

the only other pressing thing I have to do is sort out a balance transfer as I think one of my 0% cards is about to run out. Hopefully this will be OK as my ex fiance was registered at this address for a while and of course, now I know he had a shocking credit record. So I am hoping this won't affect me if I need to apply for a new card.

hope everyone has a fab day :)

  • it is murder to start with, but you will notice a difference very quickly - by day 3 you will find it much less unpleasant. Jillian is a total slave driver but I have to admit, everything she says makes perfect sense :D and she encourages you to shout at her.

and with it only being 20 mins, even the busiest people can't really not find a way of fitting it in (blushing face!)

Hello, there. Just read your diary from the start (even though I am supposed to be working). You have done amazingly well and are much stronger than you give yourself credit for. You have made some tough decisions, but they seem to be absolutely right for you even though some of them probably didn't seem like it at the time. Don't stress about the house - the right thing will happen at the right time. Good luck with your plans for this year. Everything will fall into place and deservedly so.

Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.
  • thank you for your post :)

I have had a good day. spent most of it on here reading diaries which i always find really inspirational :)

I rang up about the balance transfer expiry date, to find it still has another couple of months to run so this was good news. I cannot wait until I don't have to chase around every few months sorting out new cards/transfers (although I know I am hugely lucky that so far I have still been able to get 0% deals - well, so far so good anyway!) and I hope to knock at least one of the cards on the head, permanently, by the end of 2011.

i managed a shred session which was really hard work, but I felt good afterwards. I did a weigh and measure, v depressing but no point kidding myself. It is a bit more motivation to get on and sort it out.I hope it will be the last time, but somehow i think i will always be battling the last half a stone :rotfl:

i had a lovely bath too - something i don't seem to get time to do in normal weeks.

also took the dog out for a brief stagger - he is old and arthritic and didn't manage very far today.
