    hi everyone

Firstly thank you so much to burntfingers for summing things up so well - Wordsmith you are right! Everyone's support is brilliant and I really appreciate it all :T

This has given me a huge lift as well as explaining why I have felt a bit strung out over recent months (as if I didn't know - nice to have a reminder though!) :rotfl:

I am v excited as this weekend is my first utterly spare weekend with no plans for a long time. I would normally have felt a bit jumpy about what I am going to do with myself, but I can't wait just to not have anything I HAVE to do :)

So I have been thinking. I am going to try and create a perfect weekend (inspired by Hypno and her perfect week) for myself, by myself. No chums or boys or dogs, just me. And will probs go and see my mum and dad on Sunday.

    Here goes....

    * Quiet one this evening, some soaps, some practice and some Davina

    * Davina first thing tomorrow and Sunday - getting some good exercise will set me up for the day

    * Full Queen of Sheba treatment tomorrow morning - even if all I do afterwards is DIY and gardening - my skin is dry as toast so needs a drink!

    * Trip to the tip - physical de-cluttering to clear out my rubbly downstairs bathroom

    * Sand down peeling paint on landing and fill cracks ready for re-painting soon

    * Spot of gardening/jungle clearance

    * Tidy up paperwork - 15 mins on the MUST DO pile (that has stuff in from over a year ago )

    * Read some magazines so I can clear some out - there is a backlog but I can't throw ones away that I haven't read

    * Harp practice

    * Housework/Home Blessing :D (but not too much, Rome wasn't built in a day)

    * Pop to mum and dad's and walk dogs, thinking about our mums as we go. Sad but nice I hope. And cheap!

    * Print doggy photo for Mum's mothers day present

    * Afternoon nap/potter/watch a film

    * Bike ride  :j in readiness for some possible trips into work on my bike next week :)

It's not THE perfect weekend by any means, but hopefully it will be perfect for me, and what I need, right now. Which is to feel a little more in control on the domestic front, to have a rest, and to get some practice done!

Hope everyone has a good one :)

PS Am trying the envelope system this month - £100 was withdrawn from the bank in cash yesterday.

£6 spent on carwash (finally! and well worth it!)
£30 to go in an envelope for counselling lady
£25 to go in for haircut

the rest - well, that's it til the end of April!

    watch this space....

Hell's teeth, woman - if I wanted to pack that much into a weekend, it would have to be at least four days long! Hope you enjoy it, especially the walk with Mum and the dogs.

Hope you enjoy your weekend :D

My finances are a bit like yours in April  so I'm sure I'll be around a lot :p

Your weekend sounds fab! Better than festering around anyway (which I have done past two weekends ahem).
Good luck with the envelope system, I too am in for a poorish April, luckily I have a few events which have already paid for :)
    Enjoy your day xxx

    evening all :)

Just a quick TADA list as I have had a wonderful uplifting day and am bursting with happiness. best of all it has all come from me :) (well, and some friends but wouldn't have seen them unless I had bitten the bullet!)

    had lie in

    ate coco shreddies :j

    lazed about with corrie repeat

    had shower

had quick burst on the harp before going to hairdressers

went to hairdressers and I have the most fabulous FRINGE! (more later)

went to DIY shop (hate B&Qs so went to my favourite proper place) to get bits for sanding/filling

    got home and had lunch

checked tyre pressures on bike (or tried to but the tyre pressure gauge seems to have gone missing  so had a go with the one on the pump)

got kitted up and went out on bike

went to 2 bike shops and spent £2 on earplugs and booked MOT for next weekend

tried on new helmets but the one that fitted was huge on the outside so I looked ridiculous

chatted to 2 lovely guys who I have known a while in bike shop 2

popped in on another friend who runs a race team and made us a brew and had a gossip/catch up with him and one of his riders for this year

rode home a very happy girlie indeed

    did Davina cardio box

now sat here waiting for So You Think You Can Dance to start

Not a bad day really :D

So. The Fringe! I LOVE IT! found a couple of pictures in a hair magazine and my lovely hairdresser got it spot on. It isn't too heavy and isn't annoying. It looks so different and I really feel like a new woman. I have cheekbones and at last have done something different with my hair rather than the normal variation on the layers/side parting/various lengths between shoulders and bob. I was so pleased I tipped the hairdresser a fiver. More than I could really afford but I find hairdressers remember generosity and go the extra mile :)

It is almost helmet proof which helps :D

So. Later I will have a quick sand of the paintwork on the landing as there doesn't seem to be much on the telly.

Oh - and last night got my film wish as Wall Street was on Film4 :j One of my favourite lines ever from any film is from this film, right at the end, just as Bud's dad is driving him to the court for his trial.

"Create, don't just live off the buying and selling of others"

Very appropriate for a musician who spends a long time in the world of finance!

    happy weekend everyone xx

    Hi Little_H

    Still keeping up with you!

I am enjoying a 'me' weekend too and I had my haircut/colour on Thursday and won't wash it for a week! I love how they dry my hair and I have been gradually getting a stronger fringe put in for a while now.

Isn't it great how it changes how you feel about yourself?

When I was about 18 my pal and I used to be forever skint (as you are at that age - crikey nowts changed!) and we never had the cash to go away on holiday. So we'd get our hair cut or something. Our adaptation of the saying 'a change is as good as a rest' was 'a haircut's as good as a holiday'.

So now I don't believe that a haircut's as good as a holiday but it does make you feel great!!

I am loving how I am sitting in my lovely little work room and have had the time to hang some more pictures on my wall of 'inspiration and great memories' in front of my big old fashioned teacher's desk! Even having more time to sit and catch up on the forums.

How my priorities have changed. I couldn't actually be chewed with getting all worked up about going out and what I was going to wear and the worry of the pending hangover and how much money I would be spending.

No, I think I might coax the Baldy to pop out for one pint and curl up on the couch and enjoy my free time.

Hope your lush weekend continues! Keep smiling!

It certainly has made a difference, I feel like a whole new person!

Just knowing that not many people have seen it yet, and certainly no-one who I want to have left behind, is great. I am a bit nervous of going into work tomorrow as it is so noticeable you can't help but comment, but I will make a bit more of an effort and feel fabulous and hopefully it will be fine :)

Even my dad noticed I'd "done something different" to my hair

Today's TADA list is less extensive than yesterday's, but I have had a wonderful day.

had a lie in til about 8am

got up and did some Davina - full hour this time. Also watched her little section on clothes and it was fascinating. I wouldn't think of her as having a similar body shape to me but she is very cleverly dressed to make the most of her shape so will be thinking on! :) Lots! :)

    had breakfast

cleaned shower and did some of the Queen of Sheba thing - not the whole thing as Dad texted to say would I like the lawn mowing so didn't want to be mid-anything for when he arrived! :rotfl:

rang Mum to wish her happy mother's day. She has asked we postpone celebrating it until after the funeral so I will plan something nice for then :)

watched Moto2 race (bikes) and MotoGP (more bikes) with Dad. These were great to watch, some red hot racing and very entertaining so it was nice to share it with Dad as he is a big fan too :)

pottered and helped while Dad mowed the lawn

cleaned the rest of the yukky stuff out of the pond so can now see my fishies :D

printed doggy photo for Mum's mother's day present

talked to Dad about music choices for the funeral and played him some of what he had asked for :)

    washed and changed bedding

finally did ironing and put washing away

emailed NCD proof for car insurance

So....while I didn't do a lot of the DIY stuff I had planned, I thought it unlikely this would actually get done :) but I have had a lovely relaxing weekend so feel pretty chuffed.

I watched a programme about Jackie Stewart on BBC2 and it was wonderful. I didn't really know much about him but there has been a lot of stuff on lately about racing from years back and I find it fascinating, if very sad at times.

Adding this to the bike racing earlier, and getting out on my bike yesterday, I have been able to enjoy my petrolheadedness this weekend and I haven't done that for a long time. It is one of my biggest passions so I must make more time for it this year.

I'm hoping to go to Brands Hatch on Easter Monday with Dad for the first round of BSB - this has been a bit of a tradition over the last few years and will be a nice thing to do. Dad's eyes lit up when I suggested it :) so hopefully this will be a nice thing to do for us together, I feel like I am helping him enjoy himself too at a tough time. Mum is happy as long as Dad is happy, and when times are tough for him she knows if he is with me and motorbikes are involved, he will come home a happy Daddy :)

Now I worry about what happens when he dies :( It's silly I know, but with Granny passing lately, I guess it's natural to think about it more than normal. I am seeing counselling lady tomorrow night so will have a chat with her about it.

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend :)

    Hi little_h

That was some weekend plan, if thats your idea of relaxation I'd hate to see what you did when you have a busy weekend planned :rotfl:

Sounds like you're chuffed with your new hair do, having my hair done always gives me a boost as well so its certainly money well spent.

    Have a great week xx
