Little_H, you are doing so well and I love reading your diary.
On lunches, I've just broken down the cost of my standard lunch which is two wraps made with ham, salad and salsa and it comes to £1.10 a day (and the ham is Tatcos finest as I hate wet ham). It takes minutes to make (I do it whilst my porridge is cooking in the microwave = 3 minutes), and the bonus is that it isn't full of butter/margarine/mayo. Worthwhile IMHO.What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
thanks satchmo1

normally I have soup on my work from home days (and stock up on New Covent Garden when it's on offer, although I need to go back to making my own as it will be loads cheaper!) and make ham and pickle butties - know what you mean on the crappy ham, mine comes from my farm shop and is amazing!
Last Friday I left them in the fridge and then this week I was meant to do a supermarket top up on Monday night before counselling. Instead I was being Super_h Accident Recovery instead! So ran out of time. Our work has a vending machine filled with nice sandwiches and I could have had a cheapy one for £1.60 but had a nicer one for £2.20 both days. Knowing I shouldn't need to go to the bank again is somewhat focussing my attention on what I don't need to spend, so it is certainly serving its purpose.
I am feeling a little sad this morning, but having that awful feeling of kicking myself too. Looks like Mr Possible will be letting me down on when we were next due to meet up. I had a feeling it wouldn't come off, so it's not a huge surprise, but I am really disappointed as things had gone well when we met up the last couple of times. It might still happen but I'm not putting money on it (not that I have any :rotfl:) I know how it looks, and what I would say to one of my friends if they were in the same boat, so am going to have to summon every ounce of 'not bothered'ness and brush it off.
Going to get stuck into my work today, try and stay off the internet and put my mobile on silent so I am not waiting for it to bleep all the time
. I always end up doing more than my hours on home days as I am on and off the internet a bit. Just for once I would like to do a 9 to 5 with a proper lunch break, to see how it feels finishing at 5 on a sunny day and not having a commute to face
hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine :j0 -
Aw, sorry about Mr Possible. He could still phone, though ... Have a good day."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
Being "not bothered" is really difficult to achieve, when you know that you really *are*!

Hi little_h
Scary stuff having a near miss with the accident, glad that you're ok. Its great that you've got your project finished and that the boss appreciated it - always a good morale boost.
Mr Possible sounds interesting, hope it works out for you. Have a great work from home day, you must have all the sunshine as is cloudy "up North" xx0 -
morning

If Mr Possible can't keep to the date that you had planned then it could just be that he has a genuine reason as to why he can't make it....if you suggest a different time/date and he then makes an excuse then you know and can move on from there.
I have dated some mingers
...lol but funnily enough the one's that I thought were non starters usually went on to be something that was good...:rotfl:
I met someone once, who I had told that I was 5ft 8 in bare feet with heels would be 5ft 11, when I stood next to him at the bar, he remarked as to how tall I was ....he was a 'little' guy....so had warned him of this....but it was an issue for him so much so that I was tempted to leg it when he was at the loo
...it was a truly awful date...so I made my excuse and left....well he left right after me and then followed me down the car park...I was doing these large giant steps and he was almost running behind me.:rotfl:
He then had the nerve to ask me if he could see me again so I said that I didn't think that there was a spark....he said that 'I went down the carpark like the devil was chasing me' ...so I jokingly said 'it was'
Needless to say he didn't get the hint even when I told him that I washing my hair night after night....so in the end had to get blunt and say sorry I just don't fancy you...:o

I agree with Hypno on the whole trying to be not bothered thing. Not easy for us lassies!!
Not sure what to say about Mr Possible, he may have some issues/stuff going on, we all have baggage nowadays! I hope things work out
.
Reading BFs post...I'm short, is he still single??? Haha0 -
afternoon all, the weather is glorious and I have been out for a stroll over lunch time. AND I rode my bike into work for the first time in months!
Mr P is still in touch but is still being evasive. I have said the ball is in his court now and I am not chasing any more. I HATE the uncertainty and the wobbling feeling of 'is it me' but I know it's unlikely to be, I have made my feelings clear (not in an overbearing way, "just a I like you and had fun and would like to see you again ") which was probably the wrong thing to do, it's either just a communication breakdown or it's just not meant to be.
There is another offer of a brew and a bike ride on Sunday but I am not sure. Seems they are like buses
Will be out on my bike anyway so probably no harm in popping along but in truth, I just don't think I am ready for all these games and what ifs.
I did a good hour of proper practice last night and am feeling more and more confident for the funeral on Monday.
Tonight I don't really have any plans but will catch up on soaps and do some Davina I think. Plus I have the dog til tomorrow :j so at least cuddles are assured even if they are furry ones.
Tomorrow morning I need to pop to town to return a skirt I have changed my mind on - wasn't really sure on it when I bought it, and couldn't afford it anyway
Then I need to do some demolition therapy in the downstairs bathroom as ex hubs is passing in his van tomorrow afternoon to go to the tip, so is taking some of my bigger stuff. Then he will collect the pooch.
Sunday morning I am teaching for an hour or so, and then have the afternoon to do some final preparation for Monday and get out on my bike.
I am feeling a bit lonely now but in truth the weekend will fly by and I have plenty to do to occupy my time

 posted you a response and then it disappeared....
It sounds like you have a hectic weekend planned.
As you are out on your bike at the weekend then having a cuppa with a friend is a good way of opening up your social circle again. Friends of friends etc...and you already have the same interests ie motorbikes....even if its someone just to have a blat with
on a weekend.
Happy DIYing this weekend have you made any decisions with selling the house??
Happy furry cuddles with your pooch...these are special times that pass by so quickly. They always sense when you need a lift and just have such a special way which makes you smile.
My OH is frantically working on the bandit....he said ' that she is on her feet again and up and running' :T think that this sunny weather is spurring him on plus he likes me on the back and wants me to get more used to being on the bike before the rally at the end of the month . Apparently we are all riding up as a group, I just hope that they don't go too fast and scare me
will be a proper wimp then !!
Hope you have a good weekend

How did the DIYing go? Dare I ask, have you heard from Mr Possible? And did you get out on the bike and go for that cuppa (with Mr P?)?
I hope all goes well for the funeral tomorrow. You are very brave playing at the funeral of someone you love. Your granny would be so proud of you, I am sure, and so will your Dad. Love and best wishes."Green pastures are before me,
